I have an Elijah and top of my list this time is Jemima :-)

DitzyDonkey · 13/07/2014 14:48

lloydlf76 I think I may have seen a thread of yours recently about Jemima which reignited my love for the name Grin

I love Rafaella! And she could be Rafa for short, which would be really cool.

DitzyDonkey · 13/07/2014 14:57

Yep Raf, Raffy or Raffa would all be brilliant nn for Rafaella. It's weird though I wouldn't mind Rafaella being shortened (though not to Ella) but really would prefer Jemima not to be shortened....though Myma would not be the worse nn either! I'm weird like that.

Jemima.

pilates · 13/07/2014 15:06

Jemima with nn Jem.

It is a pretty name.

squoosh · 13/07/2014 16:45

Don't Ferrero Rocher have a chocolate called a Rafaella? I do like the Raffy type nicknames though.

Not keen on Jemima at all.

Mrsindecision · 13/07/2014 16:53

LOVE Rafaella - a great choice IMO.
Unfortunately Jemima doesn't travel well, not sure if that bothers you or not? It's riddled with negative racial connotations across North America and that would be enough to put me off it.

DitzyDonkey · 13/07/2014 17:09

I'm aware of the racial connotations in North America. That is not an issue that bothers us.

Jemima.

PookBob · 13/07/2014 17:17

Jemima.

I have an Eli too!

Snap :)

Pico2 · 13/07/2014 17:42

I'm not sure that Rafaella would be correctly pronounced. I don't know how to say it.

burgatroyd · 13/07/2014 17:55

I like Rafaella as it reminds me of white chocs, as squoosh said. Ohhh, love them flaky white balls of relish!
But Jemima goes better with Eli.

Do you have any other names you like?

DitzyDonkey · 13/07/2014 17:57

burgatroyd Kitty and Polly where also contenders but I am after going off of them.

Rafaella is fab! Very cool.

StellaLuna82 · 13/07/2014 18:03

I know a little girl called Raphaelle and it really suits her, seems like a girls name to me now. I also love Jemima though!

busyDays · 13/07/2014 18:20

I much prefer Jemima, it a really pretty name. Rafaella and particularly all the nicknames mentioned above just sound very boyish to me.

Rhubarbgarden · 13/07/2014 19:11

Both too frilly for me. Much prefer Kitty and Polly.

Oriunda · 13/07/2014 20:07

Rafaella. Quite an unusual name, even in Italy (I only know one). It's pronounced raff-eye-Ella in Italy.

Sophronia · 13/07/2014 21:02

Jemima. I prefer Rafaella spelled either Rafaela or Raffaella.

Gugglebum · 14/07/2014 06:00

Raphaela/Rafaella, but only by a hair. Jemima is sweet too.

Gingerjv · 14/07/2014 17:24

I prefer Rafaella. Not fan of Jemima
