Is Leo a chavvy name?!?!

My husband and I have been set on it for awhile but doubts are creeping in as we are starting to think it might be chavvy now or in future?! Due next week so need some mn opinions! What do you think?!

leo is a great name-really classic!

I hate the word chavy. But no, it is a popular name across many socio economic groups and I don't think it is pigeonholed. It is like Thomas or Sam.

No it's lovely! The Leo I know is very nice, 29 and has a well paid job in the city. As other's have said it's a pretty classless name.

Leo, Leon, Rocco, I love those names, I think they transcend class because they sound great.

I don't think so. But if you're really worried why not go for an extended version (Leonard/Leon or perhaps even Laurence) so that you have the option to extend out?

I am assuming the OP is of the age where Leonardo di Caprio was a heart throb and is worried that it sounds a bit named-after-a-sleb? I am of a similar age and I would sadly like to inform that no one thinks of that any more because - despite my best efforts - it's no longer 1999.

I don't think it really has any class connotations. I would quite like a long version, but Leonard would surely just get shortened to Len?! And Leonardo and Leopold are a bit OTT...

I only know one Leo, he's a second cousin once removed or some such and he's one of the poshest people I know, think it's fine as long as you don't muck about with the spelling
