Overheard at a playground yesterday: 'Stan! Stan! STANIEL - get down from there!' Grin

The parent probably has a son called Daniel and a son called Stan and blended them - I am always calling DS1 and DS2 the first letter of DS2's name and the ending of DS1's, esp when I have to call out to them unexpectedly, but they do have separate and non similar names... Blush

My mum used to do that MrTumble - not good when one child is called Sarah and the other gets called Vix and you end up shouting "Sar..vix" across the park!

spiderlight · 08/07/2014 10:49

I hadn't thought of that!

That's quite funny! Trying to imagine my children's names blended together. Weird results.

MrTumblesBavarianFanbase · 08/07/2014 11:09

:o Sirzy !

It probably only happens when the names naturally blend becca - I have a DD too, but her name never seems to end up in the "blend" :o

Staniel is quite popular in the states. I know three babies called it.

MrTumblesBavarianFanbase · 08/07/2014 11:18

Haha look - its an island in the Bahamas! Perhaps all the little Staniels really are called that (honeymoon babies named for place of conception, celeb style...) Hmm

Db and I were called 'Roychel' for the vast majority of our childhood!

Ooh, hello.... [http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9Xh9uewILjI/UD92SarblOI/AAAAAAAEfZU/czyV2eQbqME/s1600/09.jpg Staniel Ferreira]], apparently.

:o Spider

Is there going to be a sudden rush of little newborn Staniel MN babies now?

fattycow · 08/07/2014 11:50

My mother in law doesn't blend names, but she just uses the wrong one. My husband has been called by his father's name, his brother in law's name, the other bil's and the names of our 3 nephews. It is quite funny to have your husband being called by the name of your newborn nephew! Grin

At the park yesterday, a little boy was called Arson. Confused

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 08/07/2014 12:07

It couldn't have been Arsene? Like the football chap, could it?

Mind you - maybe he's just a very bright spark! Grin

Pangaea · 08/07/2014 13:39

It's probably not his actual name. Just a jokey family thing.

Love Stan for what it's worth.

DH is called Christopher, but is only ever known as Kit. I call him Kitstopher much to his annoyance. Hope people don't think that's his real name!

Rhubarbgarden · 08/07/2014 21:58

I mix up the cat's name (Nutter) and ds's (Gus) and end up yelling Gutter at both of them. Not good.

bouquetofpencils · 08/07/2014 22:25

If MrTumble is right those brothers are called Stan and Dan Smile
