Baby D is being registered in the morning and he has no middle name Shock I don't even have any ideas. What middle name goes with Dominic? surname begins with M so nothing beginning with I or U or any others that could spell out something ridiculous with his initials, other than that any and all suggestions welcome Smile

James
Edward
Alexander

Something classic and traditional. Dominic is lovely.

mamalovebird · 06/07/2014 19:09

Is it totally necessary to have one? I've always thought middle names are used as a nod to honour a family name or member, that's what I did for my dc anyway.

How about George?

Dominic James M

Dominic Karl / Carl

Dominic Eric

Dominic Christopher

Dominic Ryan

Dominic Henry

Dominic Harold

You dont have to have a middle name!

Why stress yourselves out and 'panic pick' a name that means nothing to you that some stranger off the internet picked? Confused

Seriously, he'll manage very well without one.

LynetteScavo · 06/07/2014 19:15

If you have no name you love, just don't have a middle name...don't just stick one in for the sake of it!

Or give him the same middle name as his Dad, or his grandfathers first name?

Gingerjv · 06/07/2014 19:40

Dominic Carter, Connor, Ryan, Mathew, Eliah, Taylor,

littlejohnnydory · 06/07/2014 20:51

Joseph?

fanjodisfunction · 06/07/2014 21:19

I agree to a family name, does he have to be registered tomorrow? Ask relatives about great grandfathers name and other names in the family. My sons middle names are both his grandads names.

my grandma didnt have a middle name, but her sister did and it bugged her throughout her life.

Suggestions from me

steven
henry
greyson
ryan
lewis

it doesnt have to be a name it can be something associated with his time of birth, like an event or place of birth.

Bowlersarm · 06/07/2014 21:21

Definitely give him one.

Henry, William, James, Samuel, Harvey.

Or a family name.

Leeds2 · 06/07/2014 21:21

James

Edward

Patrick

George

He has to have a middle name but it's so difficult, unfortunately yes he has to be registered tomorrow he's 6 weeks on Tuesday and tomorrow is the only appt they had.
I'm thinking maybe Jackson, it would've been his 1st name if I'd got my way (his father and rest of family said no) plus he can have 3 possible nn to choose from when he's older, dom, nick and dj. I know lots of people hate nn but 1 of the reasons he has a semi long first name and needs a middle 1 is because when a kids in trouble I use variations of the full name so they know just how much they're in trouble Grin

Jackson always reminds me of Michael Jackson Smile.

Jack on it's own would go well with Dominic.

STOPwiththehahaheheloling · 06/07/2014 22:22

Why does he have to have one? So he knows when he's in trouble? Confused

nugget05 · 06/07/2014 22:37

Ugh I hate Michael Jackson that may have just killed that name Smile
Middle names are important in my family they get used a lot and no not just so they know they're in trouble although that is 1 of the reasons I personally love them. As a child if ever I was in trouble or needed, family members would call me and depending on what they called me I knew what they wanted. It's just something my family does I know it seems strange to outsiders but it makes sense to me

Jackson is a great middle name: it's our DS's as it was his grandma's maiden name.

There are some fab Jacksons out there - Glenda j, or J Pollock for example. Grin

storytopper · 06/07/2014 23:10

Your maiden name? Your mother's maiden name? Your MIL's maiden name?

I have been researching my family history (and DH's) and it has been so helpful tracing the correct people when ancestors have had unusual names, middle names or names used by previous generations.

A middle name is a good idea - for future historians.

BlueStarsAtNight · 07/07/2014 02:37

How about

Dominic Preston
Dominic Harrison
Dominic Travis
Dominic Fulton
Dominic Jonah
Dominic Oscar (his initials would spell Dom which is pretty cool!)

Bange · 07/07/2014 02:40

I put my dad's name in. V glad now.

BlueStarsAtNight · 07/07/2014 08:48

In fact I'd definitely go for an O name, so his initials spell his name :)

Dominic Oliver
Dominic Otis
Dominic Orson
Dominic Otto
Dominic Oswald
Dominic Owen

BreeVDKamp · 08/07/2014 15:43

Ooh come back and tell us what you chose :) I love the DOM idea :)

ButterflyOfFreedom · 08/07/2014 15:46

Dominic George was on our shortlist Smile
