Just wondered how this name comes across to people.

Frumpy.

hashtagwhatever · 06/07/2014 13:35

Makes me think of an older lady.

juneybean · 06/07/2014 13:35

It's my cats name (hence the username) but I think it'd be cute on a baby.

PestoSurfissimos · 06/07/2014 13:40

Awful

Jemimapuddleduk · 06/07/2014 13:42

I love it!

weatherall · 06/07/2014 13:42

Terry and...

There is nothing wrong with it.

It's classic. No nns. Easy to spell. There won't be 3 in her class.

It's not chavvy or snooty.

evertonmint · 06/07/2014 13:43

It's ok but still a bit old ladyish. Juno is much more modern I think.

hotdrinkandaliedown · 06/07/2014 13:45

I really like it.

Cardinal · 06/07/2014 18:56

I LOVE June!

So much better than May/Mae!

Gingerjv · 06/07/2014 19:43

Just nice and sweet name! Nothing extraordinary, nothing weird, strange or unusual. But very cozy, sweet and close to heart) I was born in June and i would not mind my mom called me June instead of Julia;-))

NadiaWadia · 06/07/2014 19:55

But Julia is so much classier! June is OK but does seem a bit dated and the sound of it is nothing special.

pancakesfortea · 06/07/2014 19:57

We have an April at school which I love.

Holidayfun · 06/07/2014 20:33

Don't like at all, but not sure why. Just seems harsh sounding and old fashioned.

calzone · 06/07/2014 20:34

Would you like to be called June?

I would not. Smile

joanofarchitrave · 06/07/2014 21:05

Many thanks to all :)

It's better that may but not as good as April or Augusta.

Ludways · 06/07/2014 21:15

My Auntie was June, I like it but then I loved her. I really don't like Juno though.

Leeds2 · 06/07/2014 21:20

Wouldn't be my choice.

Reminds me of June Brown (Dot in Eastenders!).

I would prefer Summer for a June birthday. And I don't really like that!

burgatroyd · 07/07/2014 09:29

I like Juniper!

HibiscusIsland · 07/07/2014 10:39

I think June, Jean and Joan are all due a revival as old lady chic names. Maybe in ten years time they could be the new Milly, Molly, Lilly, Holly etc.

There was a Matt Bianco song which had the words "And June, Gonna get some money soon" It made the name seem 50s retro in a good way.

bouquetofpencils · 07/07/2014 12:02

It's sweet and actually I can see it suiting a young person with a sunny disposition. It's like May, Daisy - very summery.

Similar

Jane
Juniper
Jenna

I personally am not a fan of Juno and prefer June.

I would probably assume the person was born in June but I knew an older one born in May.

NigellasDealer · 07/07/2014 12:03

Mehefin sounds better

HibiscusIsland · 07/07/2014 12:13

I've found the lyrics of the Matt Bianco song I mentioned

DANCING IN THE STREET
Oh June
I've been missing you
Yeah, winter's coming
Gotta get a job real soon
And June
When I get some money through, yeah
I'm getting out of here
And I'm coming back to you, yeah
I can hear them

Hear them sing, sandals ring
Everybody's dancing in the street
Yeah, dancing in the street

Oh June
When I think of you, yeah
Oh you've got that something
Puts me in the groove
And June
When I'm loving you, yeah
Never felt so good
Never thought I could
Oh June, yeah
I can hear them

Hear them sing, sandals ring
Everybody's dancing in the street
Yeah, dancing in the street
Dancing in the street

I'm getting out of here
I know I need you baby

Hear them sing, sandals ring
Everybody's dancing in the street
Yeah

Oh you got me
Dancing in the street
You got me, got me,
Dancing in the street
You got me now
Dancing in the street
Oh June
Dancing in the street

Notso · 07/07/2014 12:16

I actually really like it. I would be happy to be called June.
