Klein is my immediate thought - don't know if that's a bad thing or not??!

I knew of a Calvin once, he was adorable (if a little naughty!).

I'm not keen on the name myself but it is inoffensive enough and there are certainly worse out there!

GlacindaTheTroll · 04/07/2014 15:38

... and Hobbes!

SarahMcCxx · 04/07/2014 15:47

I was thinking Cal for short. We're just trying out names that aren't too common and we don't know any Calvin's x

Calvin Harris.

And that laugh-a-minute John Calvin.

Gingerjv · 04/07/2014 16:26

I like this name! though i also remembered Klein))) But name is nice

MamaLazarou · 04/07/2014 16:34

I love Calvin and would definitely consider it if I were having another baby. It's unusual but not wacky and everyone can spell it and pronounce it.

SarahMcCxx · 04/07/2014 17:37

Thanks for your thoughts. We're not telling people our name suggestions so it's nice to get opinions x

...ism

I'd think Scottish ancestry.

Similar to Callum.

Quite nice in itself and people will quickly associate it primarily with your child anyway.

DogCalledRudis · 04/07/2014 17:49

Nice! Calvin nn Cal

Pidgy · 04/07/2014 21:41

Calvin, Simon, Theodore......chipmunks.

Sorry, that's the 1st thing that comes to mind.

Notso · 04/07/2014 21:54

The chipmunk was Alvin not Calvin!

I quite like it. DS1 in in school with one nicknamed Vinnie.

Pidgy · 05/07/2014 09:51

He he! Oh yeah! Sorry! Blush
It was still the first thing that came to mind though.

Notso · 05/07/2014 16:20

Grin I should be Blush T my knowledge of them.

DinoSnores · 05/07/2014 16:25

Calvin Harris isn't really called Calvin, but I do think it is a good solid name. The first thing I'd think of is John Calvin but I am a Calvinist so wouldn't have a problem with that!

Frikadellen · 05/07/2014 18:17

I am another who thinks " and Hobbs" however i ADORE Calvin and Hobbs and the name makes me smile.

But if you have a boy next time I wouldn't recommend using Hobbs thats just overkill

HamAndPlaques · 05/07/2014 22:49

Makes me think of pants. Sorry.

SarahMcCxx · 06/07/2014 13:48

I've never heard of john calvin or hobbs???

Calvin and Hobbes are BRILLIANT! www.calvinandhobbes.co.uk/

I always associated the name with African Americans. Any heritage of that ilk?
