Cressida?

I'm an avid reader of this forum as I (like many others on here) love discussing baby names but this name is baffling me.

Before Prince Harry dated a girl named Cressida it was rarely suggested as a baby name. Now it pops up on every girl's name thread on here? It will be associated with C Bonas (I think that's her name?) so I just don't get its sudden popularity. Is it because it's a 'fresh' name or do people genuinely like it? For those who like it - have you always liked it or is it a recent thing?

I'm so curious about this.

It is comedy posh, a cliché if you like

And who is such a monarchy follower they know the names of the royal family girlfriends and boyfriends. Who gives a fig?

I'd like to bet some people won't know how to pronounce it either.

It's a bit like Freya to me.

There's a certain type of person who'd like it. But others won't.

Dates back to Chaucer - the form is Criseyde in Middle English!
