DH doesn't like any of my (completely hypothetical) baby names!

We aren't even TTCing for another year or so (have 1 boy and 1 girl already)! And I mentioned some that I've been broodily dreaming of considering. And he doesn't like any of them, the git.

What names does he like? Maybe there's some common ground there.

fuzzpig · 21/06/2014 21:52

Well TBF he does agree with Benedict. But we both agree we would get a lot of "oh, like Sherlock" if we used it! Do love it though maybe as a middle name.

He vetoed my favourites:
Reuben
Elias
Tristan
Margot
Matilda

He suggested Georgina, Magnus and Frederick.

Quite embarrassing as we won't really be facing this issue for at least 18 months Blush

It's funny as when we first decided to start a family, we were planning/hoping for more than 2, and we had loads of names, then had to avoid pregnancy at all costs for a few years (health reasons) and now those names seem... wrong! Strange how things that you think are totally set in stone actually aren't.

Oh and he likes Elijah, which I love too but too many in our circle to use I think.

Have a much longer list of names we can't use for various reasons!

Actually I don't really love Elijah. I like it but wouldn't use it I think.

Leon and Joel and Zoe also vetoed!

Just for fun here is the list of names (which I wrote before even saying to DH "could we have another baby" Blush Blush Blush) I like but for various reasons can't be used.

If he is anything like my DH he'll end up changing his mind when the time comes.

My DH hated Elias at first, he now loves it and its the number one contender if LO is a boy.

fuzzpig · 21/06/2014 22:19

Thanks I'll keep trying with that one :o

Our two have pretty popular names so I'd like something a little more unusual BUT not so unusual it looks weird compared to siblings IYSWIM.

I've also decided (I have no idea if DH agrees :o) I'd like to not find out the sex this time, unlike with DD and DS, so will be been longer before we can really pick a name.

For every name he vetoes, he should have to suggest one. At least you might find one that works for both of you. In the meanwhile, good luck with the name search. Thanks

Can I throw in a few that I like? Not all of them go with our last name, but some of these I have liked ever since I was little.

Girls:
Eline
Femke
Jade
Cilla (short for Cecilia)
Nina

Boys:
Samuel
Niek (short for Nicolaas)
Christiaan
Ruben
Arthur

I wouldn't worry until you are pregnant!

HonoraryOctonaut · 22/06/2014 14:03

I love the name January for my hypothetical daughter, but I doubt my hypothetical DP would like it very much.
