Would be known as Millie, but full name Camilla.

Thanks

No, the camilla pb comments didn't bother me so much as the "dreadfully posh and stupid" and "braying, horse faced" comments.

washngo · 16/06/2014 18:23

And it's not a "royalist name", its from roman mythology. I didn't think to myself "hmm, how can I show what a rampant royalist I am...I know!!!" I chose it because it sounds pretty.

SirChenjin · 16/06/2014 18:25

Parker Bowles the strumpet Grin. Actually really like CPB - she seems great fun, so maybe not a bad name connection?

bassingtonffrench · 16/06/2014 18:25

I think it is a grower

losingmybelt · 16/06/2014 18:37

There are some names shouldn't be touched with a barge pole.
Apparently Myra was a popular name years ago, but I'm sure NO parent, with half a brain, would dream of calling their daughter by that name -because of the negative associations.
This is why I don't think Camilla will ever be popular either- it also has too many negative associations.
It wouldn't be fair to burden a child with it.

losingmybelt · 16/06/2014 18:41

Another example, is Tony.
You wouldn't burden a son with THAT name would you? :)

Passthebiscuitsvicor · 16/06/2014 18:41

I think its a lovely elegant name. Millie not so much.

Are you seriously comparing Camilla Parker Bowles to Myra Hindley? How ludicrous.

Muskey · 16/06/2014 18:48

Not keen on it don't mind Millie as a name though

washngo · 16/06/2014 18:52

Losingmybelt - that is absurd. I need to step away from baby names...

SirChenjin · 16/06/2014 18:59

I'm not sure that Camilla PB and Myra Hindley are comparable Shock

losingmybelt · 16/06/2014 19:01

I was wondering how long it would be before some bright spark said:

''But what has Camilla and Myra Hindley got in common? :O''

losingmybelt · 16/06/2014 19:03

I'm not saying they have anything in common. Just saying that both names have negative connotations in a lot of people's minds.

Take the name Tony. Quite a nice name wouldncha say?

But who do you automatically think of?

losingmybelt · 16/06/2014 19:04

Ha Ha SirChenjin

SirChenjin · 16/06/2014 19:04

I was wondering how long it would take before someone made a ridiculous comparison between Camilla PB and Myra Hindley.

losingmybelt · 16/06/2014 19:06

How abou Camilla Myra Millie....
now that has a nice ring to it :)

SirChenjin · 16/06/2014 19:07

Too many m's...

Tony = my elderly uncle. Then my old boss. Then Mr Blair.

Littlestar3432 · 16/06/2014 19:31

Beautiful. Pretty and unusual.

thegreengreengrass · 16/06/2014 19:45

I think it's v pretty. I like Camille even more.

I'm afraid I also really dislike Millie. If you are giving her a pretty and unusual name, I don't see the point in calling her by such a popular and cutesy nick name. Mila is better if you do want a nn.

RiverTam · 16/06/2014 19:50

why does Camilla have negative associations??? (like Myra Hindley Hmm - really??) I really like Camilla P-B, she looks like a laugh and is quite glam.

Prefer Camille though, don't like Millie at all.

losingmybelt · 16/06/2014 19:52

Glam? I think she looks like an old boot. But each to their own.

Guitargirl · 16/06/2014 19:56

I would assume (rightly or wrongly) that Camilla's parents were very right-wing in their political persuasions.

RiverTam · 16/06/2014 19:59

old boot? comparing Camilla to Myra? Riiigghhht...

SirChenjin · 16/06/2014 20:02

"An old boot"? How charming Hmm
