I love it, but it didn't go with our surname unfortunately.

afluffylamb · 11/06/2014 13:30

This is one of those names that you won't know if it suits until after she is born.

If se looks like a Heidi - then yes, you will have no choice.

Otherwise, no.

Lookingforfocus · 12/06/2014 09:56

I always think of the American Madam so - no.

NoglenTilLykke · 12/06/2014 09:58

i really like it. if you have doubts, how about Sadie? it's another name in the same vein (IMO) but it less hated on mn. Although who cares?

Memphisbelly · 12/06/2014 10:01

Love it, Really lovely name.

Provencalroseparadox · 12/06/2014 10:39

Love

Daisymasie · 12/06/2014 11:23

Don't really like it. Sorry.

squoosh · 12/06/2014 11:52

I don't like it. It sounds like the name of a 1970's porn star and then it reminds me of Heidi Fleiss, the madam.

Why has Heidi made a massive comeback? It's all over MN all the time, does it appeal to younger women than me - I'm in my mid 40s? I agree it seems very 70s like Kelli, Shelly, Lori, Jaime etc. All my Californian DHs cousins have these names. What was the cultural trigger that put Heidi back on the map? Is it Heidi Klume? It's short for Adelheid. If you like German what about Heike (Hi-ka)?

quellerosiel · 12/06/2014 17:06

Oh love it! Cute for a little girl but lovely for a grown woman.

Berryglitter · 12/06/2014 18:08

No, can't stand it (though I work with a Heidi and she's vile).

Chocoholicforever · 12/06/2014 18:11

Really don't like it either sorry!

weegiemum · 12/06/2014 18:12

To me it's too much like the book and tv series!

m0therofdragons · 12/06/2014 18:15

My dd is Heidi - we met a 4yo on holiday called Heidi before she was conceived and dh said if we have a girl he wanted a Heidi and I agreed. Really suits her. Only ever had compliments about it.

maggiethemagpie · 12/06/2014 18:45

I really don't like this name, I just don't like the sound of it! Makes me think of Su Polland and the rest in Hi-de-Hi

VeniceQueen · 12/06/2014 18:47

My DD2 is Heidi and I love it Smile

basgetti · 12/06/2014 18:47

It was my choice if DS had been a girl, but then Kerry Katona called her daughter Heidi and it put me off!

rachel234 · 12/06/2014 21:59

Really don't like it.

How do you pronounce it in English: Hide-ee or Hay-dee?

justhayley · 12/06/2014 23:47

I LOVE it but my close friend has one and as we see the once or twice a week and share a friendship group I don't feel I can use it.
She also used my other fav name for her recent DDs middle name. I'm still using that Grin

Alita7 · 13/06/2014 00:05

I quite like it and I don't think it's particularly common :)

DramaAlpaca · 13/06/2014 00:07

Don't like it at all, sorry.

wafflyversatile · 13/06/2014 00:12
