Twins.

We already have Ben and Finn (Benjamin and Finlay technically but we never bother with full names).

We are having twins and so need a range of options, I don't mind them having the same initial if they are different sexes (but not if the same due to confusion with mail etc).

Short list so far, girls:
Elizabeth
Arden
Robyn
Lauren

Boys:
James (that's it!)

Names we don't want to pick as close family members have them:
Tom, Sam, Sebastian, Joseph, Max, Luke, Matthew.

Any other suggestions? Our last boy wasn't named until he was six weeks as we couldn't agree so want to be more organised this time!

I would have suggested Caleb and Jacob too!

Aswell as Isaac, Oscar, Casper, Ivor, Oliver, Joshua, Eden, Max, Rowan, Laurie and Alexander. Or my wild card Abel, which dp said no to :(

For Girls, maybe Seren, Ivy, Arwen, Estella, Zara, Quinn, Darcy, Elowen, Rosanna, Marina, Juliana, Lydia, Rebecca or Melody?

Casey123 · 09/06/2014 20:38

My boys are called Zachary and Jacob. So Zach and Jake for short.

To add to your girls list, what about Eden or Lyla/Laila.
For boys, Archie, Leo, Theo or Aiden?

weatherall · 09/06/2014 20:50

Are you pronouncing Arden with a short or long e?

soontobeslendergirl · 09/06/2014 20:52

Ben, Finn, James and Logan
Ben, Finn, James and Avery
Ben, Finn, Avery & Libby

Other suggestions:-

Girls
Carys
Stella
Olivia (Liv)
Celeste

Boys
Ramsay
Keir
Nicolas/Nico
Daniel (Dan)

Methenyouplus4 · 09/06/2014 22:52

I would pronounce Arden as in 'den' like an animal hide out. I have only ever met one Arden and that's how it was pronounced.

A lot of these names are ones I suggested to dh but he doesn't like. I think a boy will definitely be James, which means we wouldn't want a second boy to have a J name (shame as I love Jonathan / jonny).

Of suggestions I like: Heather, Rowan, Laurie (last two for boys or girls), Arwen, Quinn. I also love Avery but Dh isn't as fussed.

I'm going to show this to dh and get his input. Then I'll probably have to do the same in a week as he's really fickle and changes his mind every week!

I would pronounce Arden as -Ar-dun' but I have never met one in real life, I'm only thinking of the character from a short but brilliant tv drama called 'Sex, Chips and Rock and Roll'. Come to think of it that Arden was a twin too - sister was called Eloise.

Arden and Robyn sound good. Both also go nicely with James, as does Lauren. I'm not personally keen on Elizabeth but I think it goes with pretty much everything (except Arden!!)

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 09/06/2014 23:58

Arden is lovely.

MsCoconut · 12/06/2014 19:00

If ds3 and. ds4, any name with a 1 syllable nn would fit with ds1, ds2 (and James). Something like:

Daniel
Callum
Zachary
William
Alexander

From your girls named, I like Elizabeth best and then Lauren. How about other girls names with an 'n' or other strong ending like:

Megan
Eden
Edith
Katherine
Claire
Charlotte
Emma
Freya

So many lovely sibling sets to choose from!

Ben, Finn . . .

James and Dan
James and Zach
James and Cal
James and Meg
James and Claire
Jamie and Edie
Beth and Freya
Ellie and Charlie
Kate and Emma

Do you have a favourite nn for Elizabeth?

BethanFaye · 12/06/2014 21:52

Please don't go for Elizabeth and Arden if you have 2 girls!!

Elizabeth is gorgeous though, how about Phoebe and Elizabeth?
Other names I like are:

Elizabeth & Laurel
Elizabeth & Leah
Elizabeth & Amelia
Elizabeth & Harriet
Elizabeth & Faye
James & Harrison
James & Alexander
James & Lain
James & Nate
