DH loves this name, I don't hate it but don't really love it either.

Any opinions or other suggestions?

I don't love it or hate it either..

Much prefer Poppy though!

manicinsomniac · 06/06/2014 10:45

I also don't love it or hate it!

I think these names are in the same vein:
April, Amy, Abbie, Amber, Bella, Clara, Cara, Casey, Chloe, Cassie, Callie, Connie, Darcey, Erin, Eliza, Freya, Fiona, Flora, Fleur, Grace, Hannah, Holly, Hazel, Heidi, Iris, Ivy, Josie, Jasmine, Julia, Katie, Lily, Lucy, Leah, Lydia, Mary, Maisie, Megan, Nina, Poppy, Polly, Ruby, Rosie, Rosa, Rose, Robyn, Rowan, Sophie, Sadie, Tilly, Violet, Viola, Verity, Willow, Zoe, Zara.

rachel234 · 06/06/2014 14:57

I wouldn't choose it myself. But YOU and your dh are having a baby and need to choose a name YOU both love, not us Smile.

burgatroyd · 06/06/2014 16:07

I wouldn't because I have met four, which makes it the most popular name in my circle.

twinjocks · 06/06/2014 17:42

I absolutely love it (but I was way ahead of the current trend, as my Daisy is 19yo!!). My 12yo son would have been Ruby if he had been a girl.

Benchmark · 06/06/2014 21:49

Love it!

looki · 06/06/2014 23:56

It wouldn't be for me. Names in the same category (in my opinion) Ella, Evie, Belle, Molly, Holly, Polly, Dolly etc, Poppy, Ruby, Lily, Ava etc

Personally I'd put Mary, Grace, Iris, Verity, Sadie, Zoe etc in a completely different category.

Nocomet · 07/06/2014 00:25

Not my cup of tea, lots of nicer choices in Manic's list.

I also don't love it or hate it!

Which I'd edit slightly to
April, Amy, Abbie, Amber,
Clara, Chloe,
Darcey, Erin, Eliza, Freya, Grace, Hannah, Holly, Hazel, Heidi, Josie, Jasmine, Julia, Katie, Lily, Lucy, Leah, Maisie, Megan, Poppy, Polly, Ruby, Rosie, Rosa, Rose, Robyn, Rowan, Sophie, Sadie, Tilly, Violet, Viola, Verity, Willow, Zoe, Zara.

unusuallyboard · 07/06/2014 00:58

I think it's ok. But I'd look at something similar (already mentioned) like Iris or Violet which are slightly less popular

Allalonenow · 07/06/2014 01:40

I think it's most lovely for a Spring / Summer baby, and much much prettier than Olive or Ivy.
Names in a similar group would be Viola or Fleur or Freya or Cressida.

I know a Daisy in her 20s, her name was sweet and pretty in her childhood and now she is adult it's upbeat and outgoing.

SavoyCabbage · 07/06/2014 03:03

Isn't it a nickname for Margaret? Or am I just making that up in. Y own head. If so, could that be a compromise?

oohdaddypig · 07/06/2014 03:25

I like it. But it is too cutesy for me.

It's like Evie, Poppy, Holly, Ellie...

justhayley · 07/06/2014 07:16

I LOVE it, but for DP it's a definite cows no go name Hmm trying to swing it for a middle name instead.
I have a just 2 year old & have only recently met 1 Daisy. I see her every week at out toddler group & get insanely jealous of her name lol it really suits her.

lostlalaloopsy · 07/06/2014 07:31

Thanks everyone! The problem is I'm not really in love with any girls names, we have a definite name for a boy though.

manic your list is great, Clara is jumping out at me from it.

I think it is a bit boring. Flower names are just so over done at the moment.

Paloma12 · 07/06/2014 21:37

It's by no means in the same genre as Sophie, contrary to an earlier poster's suggestion.

Alisvolatpropiis · 07/06/2014 22:18

I prefer it to most flower names. It is pretty. Puts me in mind of Daisy Lowe, who is both utterly beautiful and very nice in real life.

Knew a Daisy when I was younger too, was a bit older than me so would be 28/29 now.

I've always thought it was a cool name

IHeartKingThistle · 07/06/2014 22:20

It's fab.

nibbers · 07/06/2014 22:21

I love it, but didn't use it in the end as I couldn't get past the song 'bicycle made for two'

ExcuseTypos · 07/06/2014 22:22

I love Daisy. However I made the mistake of calling our cat Daisy so I couldn't use it for DD. it would have been too odd.

ExcuseTypos · 07/06/2014 22:23

I used to sing 'daisy daisy, give me your answer do' to dd, when she was a baby, every night to send her to sleep Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/06/2014 20:35

I like it a lot (biased).

Casey123 · 08/06/2014 20:37

My brother has a little girl called Daisy May. I never liked it at all before, but it really suits her and its grown on me. It very pretty and summery, it can't be shortened and there isn't really a nickname that comes with the name. But without letting my brother or his girlfriend know, maybe choose a little more exciting middle name?;) Blush

Summerbreezing · 09/06/2014 13:25

I think Daisy is a gorgeous name.

PinkHamster · 09/06/2014 18:28

I've always liked the name Daisy but whenever I tell people this in real life they look at me like I'm crazy.
