Elijah is lovely.

Not in Scotland, but I know a lot of Matildas, several with mn grace, the rest have mn Florence. It's a fine name though.

Elijah (Eli) seems to be popular in NI at the moment - there are a lot of biblical names about. Nice name.

dementedma · 03/06/2014 22:23

Nice names!

Rhubarbgarden · 03/06/2014 22:59

They are both very of the moment. I know many. Not a fan of Elijah personally as it's too religious for me. Matilda is a nice name but boring due to overuse.

DrewsWife · 04/06/2014 00:24

im a Sunday school leader so religious names are fine Wink I find names are soooo difficult. I dont want a popular name as at my daughters school there were 5 shannons and 4 kierans. lol. all in one class.

teacher referred to each child with 1st and last name.

OP Baby name statistics for Scotland 2013 here in case they might be useful:
www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/statistics/theme/vital-events/births/popular-names/babies-first-names-2013/detailed-tables.html

Only 41 Matilda (various spellings) in the whole of Scotland last year, and only 22 Eli. There were 22 Elijah as well.

Glad that you like it! Smile

Both lovely names. DS1 is an Elijah. He is now 6 and the only other one I've met is 2.

Gullygirl · 06/06/2014 09:09

They are lovely names.
I think these are in the same vein:
Noah
Jonah
Zacharia/Zachary
Isaac
Amelia
Emily
Charlotte
Rebecca

I love those names too gullygirl.

dd is 18 and a total Dr Who addict. so we have to rule out Amelia. Wink

Ooh I love them - one of my sons' middle names is Elijah and Matilda was the name we picked if DS3 was a girl :)
