For those with a Jude

We are trying to settle on a name for 3 day old DS. Jude is currently top of the list with one other possibility. One concern I have is that everyone will sing 'Hey Jude' (cringe) at him.

Has anyone else had this problem after naming their baby Jude?

We have a 3yrold Jude and he's only had this problem from his mummy and daddy . Hardly anyone else comments on the song. He just gets lots of compliments on his uber cool and gorgeous name

We have a 17 year old Jude. The only people who used to sing to him were us and his grandma. There is however a tendency to say Hey Jude when greeting him! This is not a bad thing and I still love his name 17 years on.

Jude is a gorgeous name, having a song with his name doesn't have to be a bad thing.

Its got a sweet lyric and could be the song you sing to settle him, turning into his song.

I have a Daniel (not Danny) who gets."Oh Danny boy" sung to him quite a lot and we have a young relative called Jude.who never gets."Hey Jude" what I mean is you have no way of knowing so if you like the name go for it, what will be will be.

It is the first thing I think when I hear the name Jude and love it :)

Yes Diddy, it's the Grandparents whom I expect to be the biggest culprits.

I teach a Jude. He's lovely. He's 5. I once sang a bit of Hey Jude to him (i have a tendency to sing anything, though, so this was not an experience unique to him!) and I asked him if he'd ever heard the song before. He said no, so either most people don't or my singing is so dire that he didn't recognise it!

I have a 5 year old Jude, he loves it when we play the song (not very often) and people singing 'Hey Jude' to him hasn't been a problem, don't think anyone has ever done it apart from us. He thinks it's his song and it's a lovely song, and a lovely name!

I can think of worse things than my name being used in a Beatles song. It's not exactly Justin Bieber is it?

As a Caroline with an all encompassing hatred of Neil Diamond (I was definitely named for the Status Quo version!) The only problems I had were with annoying sods at school. Since then, no lroblems :-) Jude is lovely!

I'm a Michelle and old gimmers give me the Michelle,ma belle routine which I find boring!

I have a 2 year old, Jude. Hence the mn nickname a couple of people sang the song to me when he was a baby, but nothing since. Great name choice by the way

I sing it to my Jude ALL of the time. It's no bad thing!

I have a 4 year old Jude and still love the name. Agree with the others I think it's a great song anyway so no problem there. Reading through this thread you could be forgiven for thinking that it's a common name but I have only ever met one other.
