Etta and....

Hi, I'm expecting DC2 and don't know boy/girl so I am starting to gather up some names to consider to go with DD Etta (nn Ettie)

I've always loved boys names Ezra and Asa, but are these too matchy with DD?

Girls names I'm totally stuck on, etta was my favourite for so long that anything else feels second best. For example I quite like Margot and Roma, but they don't feel 100% like DD's name did.

Any advice or other names based on these would be much appreciated Thanks

Asa would be ok (I love that name btw!) but yes, i think Ezra would be too samey. What about Isaac or Seth?

Also you can't have James for a boy.... Wink

Etta is gorgeous. I like Ezra and Asa but definitely think Ezra is too similar. Possibly Asa is too but I think you'd get away with it. Roma is sweet. I'm not keen on Margot.

How about:

Growing up I knew sisters called Henrietta and Emmeline who were universally known as Etta and Emmie. It's always stuck with me as a nice pairing.

I adore all your names, so I'm guessing you have similar taste to me. I have a Maya and am expecting second dd. We are a bit stumped for names as feel the same as you (that anything else is second best to the name we gave DD1) but here are some names from my longlist (also love Esther and hoping to persuade DH, but that's obviously almost the same as Etta!)

Ines
Olivia
Romilly/Romy
Zoe
Rose
Saskia
Imogen
Iris
Rebecca/Rebekah
Alys
Stella
Edie
Anna
Kezia
Katya
Zara
Uma

(I've just suggested Etta to DH - awaiting reply!)
