Hello, we already have a Mary and love it because it is old-fashioned but not in the top 100 baby names at the mo. We have just discovered we are expecting a boy and are stumped!! I'm a teacher so I really don't want a super-popular name... Suggestions please! Smile

My dad was Ray and I think it is quite a nice old-fashioned name that might be due a come-back, especially as his brother was Archie, which is very popular now. Haven't met any baby Rays though, so obviously no one else agrees!

I don't think anyone's recommended Stewart yet (as opposed to Stuart). As far as I can see, it's no longer even in the top 500 these days (and yet somewhere near the top ten is Jayden, which I'd never heard of until I started looking into baby names).

Disclosure: I'm a Stewart. Bit shocked to discover I'm an anachronism now, the equivalent of Raymond when I were a wee lad.

Don't think it's old fashioned, but I have not met another Michael that is younger than 12!

DS3 is Michael (will be 10 this year) and there hasn't been another baby/child with this name as first name since he was born!.
it's bizarre to me that we know 6 Noahs (apart from DS4) and 3 Isaacs (apart from DS5) but just not another Michael!

nuffin You'll be pleased to learn Sophie Ellis Bextor is keeping the name Ray going, one of her 3 sons is a Ray. I think it's her oldest.

I have cousins called Fletcher (arrow maker or something like that, always liked that connection) and Mitchell. Really strong but unusual. Fletch and Mitch for short :-)

Love Mary - pretty, classic, underused!

We have a Quentin, which isn't too common. Or how about Edmund, Leonard or Christopher?
