Same middle name as DH?

We're deciding names for DS and I'm tempted to give him the same middle name as DH. It isn't a family tradition but it sounds nice with the first names we're considering. The only problem is that we already have a DD and her middle name isn't a family name - do you think she would feel left out if DH and DS share a name and she doesn't have a similar connection?

DS2 has the same middle name as DH. Like you, we chose it just because it sounds nice with his first name, not for any traditional reasons.

DS1 & DS3 aren't the least bit bothered about it & certainly don't feel left out.

No I don't think they would feel left out, my brother has my dad's first name as his MN, but my middle name is unrelated to any family me get, it just sounds nice! It's ever bothered me! X

That's great thanks, I hoped I was just over thinking it!

William is both DH and DS's middle name and has been used as a first or middle name by almost every male member of both mine and DH's families for generations. No such tradition exists for the females so DD (due in July) will get 'new' names. It doesn't bother me at all.

I share a name with my Mum, my Dsis doesn't, as far as I know this has never bothered her one iota. She has a very pretty middle name though!

No. She won't care. I don't have a middle name. Both my siblings do. Both have links to family. It has never bothered me in the slightest.
