Names for D-day?

So this is slightly tongue in cheek, but DH pointed out if our baby DD is as prompt as her brothers were and arrives on EDD she will be born on the 70 th anniversary of D-day (6th June 1944)
My Dad was born on VE day, and DN was born at 11am on 11th of Nov and given an additional MN of " Poppy " which is kind of sweet.
Is there a D-day equivalent?

Juno was one of the beaches

skinmysunshine · 16/05/2014 13:44

Juno is nice. The only other one that could possibly be used is Gold maybe?

burgatroyd · 16/05/2014 14:09

Gold! If its a middle name why not?

burgatroyd · 16/05/2014 14:10

Britanny?

skinmysunshine · 16/05/2014 14:14

Yes purely as a middle name.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 16/05/2014 14:15

Norma

Vera for Vera Lynn?

or perhaps Pegasus after the famous Pegasus Bridge? A mythical flying horse is rather a romantic creature to be named after (though the original animal was male, of course.....)

burgatroyd · 16/05/2014 15:57

Love Pegasus! Could use that as a first name with nn Peggy!

Normandy
Neptune
Montgomery

I'm not sure D-Day is quite as 'light-hearted' an historical event as VE Day and Armistice Day. Sorry.

bakingtins · 17/05/2014 08:21

I don't think remembrance day is light hearted, is it? The only reason it's all hypothetical/tongue in cheek is it's pretty unlikely she'll turn up on that day anyway. No offence meant. If she is born on June 6th there are lots of events planned to commemorate those who died, it will be a significant date in history.

A family friend was born on D-Day and named Diane Dorothy apparently! They're a bit dated now but you could pick a name that you like beginning with a D?
