....do you think of Mr Hankey the Xmas poo from South Park??

I love it as a nn for Henry, and as DP is Canadian, we think it would go down well over there and give a N American element.

EyelinerQueen · 13/05/2014 09:35

Nope. I think of Hank Hill.

That said I really like it Smile .

I also love Chuck for Charles and other American male nicknames.

2madboys · 13/05/2014 09:36

I think of Hank Marvin.

OwlCapone · 13/05/2014 09:39

No, I didn't watch South Park.

But I did think Wank Blush

apermanentheadache · 13/05/2014 09:40

I think he might get teased at school with people substituting the H for a W. Sorry :(

PinkSquash · 13/05/2014 09:40

Hank Marvin.

flipflopsonfifthavenue · 13/05/2014 09:41

I just thought of hanky panky, but wanky hanky or variations of that are even worse!!

but surely any name can be teased in some way..?! :(

I think Breaking bad, but I do like the name.

OwlCapone · 13/05/2014 09:43

No, not any name.

Some are more likely than others though. [bitter experience]

EyelinerQueen · 13/05/2014 09:43

Of course they can.

I really don't understand ruling names out because some future theoretical schoolmates might one day come up with a rhyming insult Confused .

SirChenjin · 13/05/2014 09:43

No, I think of wank - sorry Sad

TheHounded · 13/05/2014 09:44

Breaking bad

SirChenjin · 13/05/2014 09:44

Or starving - cockney rhyming slang

MollyBdenum · 13/05/2014 09:50

I think of Hank Wangford, the country singing gynaecologist. And wank.

DotToDott · 13/05/2014 09:51

i thought of Tom Hanks, who i love.

I think it's a great name, and i agree with you that it will go down well in Canada too.

Henry is also lovely if you were to change your mind.

South Park never entered my head even though i know all the words to the Mr Hanky song

FoodieMum3 · 13/05/2014 09:52

Hank Scorpio

(The Simpsons) Blush

FoxSticks · 13/05/2014 09:54

I thought Marvin too.

meditrina · 13/05/2014 09:56

Hank Marvin

(which is an association in use in a mainstream advert for the other rhyming slang =starvin')

Monkeyandanimal · 13/05/2014 10:29

Marvin here too

Madamecastafiore · 13/05/2014 10:29

starving!

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 13/05/2014 10:34

I didn't think of South Park, but I did automatically think Wank Blush.

Of course you do have to consider what future schoolmates/peers might make of a name - and of course any name can be pulled apart & made fun of. However, Hank is much more likely to be turned to Wank than Henry would be!

Henry is lovely, but I would steer clear of Hank in the UK.

OwlCapone · 13/05/2014 10:38

Well, that proves you've not had to live through it. You'd probably get on well with my parents.

Navybluetutu · 13/05/2014 10:40

Marvin- starving

TheHoundsBitch · 13/05/2014 10:44

Rhyming slang for 'rank' (disgusting) where I'm from...

curiousgeorgie · 13/05/2014 10:46

I think 'Hank Marvin'

Then I think 'Wank'

Sorry Blush

coffeeinbed · 13/05/2014 10:46
