Overdue with DD and still not decided on a name.
She's been Lolly since 20 weeks and that will be hard to shake.
We originally liked Florence, but seems be gaining in popularity pretty fast so wondered about Floren?

Sounds a bit odd...how about Flora or Fleur?

evelynj · 11/05/2014 22:19

I have a Florence-I was annoyed at it growing in popularity too but there's so many variations-one of which is Floren & you can still call her lolly!

Congrats btw :)

Sundaedelight · 12/05/2014 18:31

How about Florentina as a nod to Florence but still different?

Lannypanny123 · 12/05/2014 18:40

I love lolly so different
I like Florence too but too popular for me think its almost made top 50
How about florrie?
I had that on my list if girls names but we settled with Dolly

kelda · 12/05/2014 18:42

Isn't it a boy's name?

ShevelKnievel · 12/05/2014 18:49

Isn't it a currency?

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 12/05/2014 19:14

How about Dolores for Lolly?

Bunbaker · 12/05/2014 19:20

What about Florian?

meditrina · 12/05/2014 19:24

Floren, Florin and Florian are all traditionally boys names (especially on mainland Europe). Are you OK with that?

SquirrelledAway · 12/05/2014 20:03

How about Floella?

It's supposed to mean flourishing or blossoming.

Poofus · 12/05/2014 22:04

Lola for Lolly? Or Lolotte?

mathanxiety · 13/05/2014 04:28

Lorena
Laura
Lauren
Lara
Laila
Leilani
Louise or Louisa
Maybe even Olivia? I know one whose nn is Ollie...

fruitpastille · 13/05/2014 04:37

Laurel?

tammytoby · 13/05/2014 07:05

Florentina is beautiful!

kalidasa · 13/05/2014 07:19

Florina is pretty and unusual, but still sounds like obviously a girl's name. The Florina I know is Romanian, so it might be more common in Eastern Europe.

Catflap1 · 13/05/2014 07:27

I work with a Florrin (male) and a Florentina both lovely names I think!

Tomkat79 · 13/05/2014 08:15

lanny I love your choice of Dolly! How has that gone down with people? Not that it bloody matters, I just wondered. Think MIL will disown me if I register her Lolly as apparently she needs a 'proper' name!
I think Floren is suitable for either a boy or girl, more so girls these days.
Oh I don't know, can't really decide until we see her. She's being very fashionably late now!
Anyone know any suitable variations of the name little minx?!

Name her Loretta, Lolly for short Smile

HannahLaRouge · 13/05/2014 08:24

I have a friend called Laura, everyone calls her Lolly

PestoSunnyissimos · 13/05/2014 08:55

I think if you call her Floren, people will be forever mis~hearing it and thinking her name is Lauren.

devoncreamtea · 13/05/2014 10:51

Just go for Florence, it's not that popular is it? Gorgeous name. Floren is fine but i just think 'ss' after it. If I were you I'd go for either the name you love best regardless of popularity etc or something completely other that you love nearly as much.

burgatroyd · 15/05/2014 18:08

Florianne? Or Lorelei, lolly nn?

Jemimapuddleduk · 16/05/2014 10:25

Loelia (pronounced Lo- lia) with Lollygor short.

Jemimapuddleduk · 16/05/2014 10:25

Oops with Lolly for short

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 16/05/2014 11:25

I'd think it was a boys' name.
