Which do you prefer as a sister to Eli?

I'm am only 5-6 weeks pregnant so plenty of time to decide! But I love contemplating names Blush and it has taken us years to get here so I want to enjoy every second (and fingers crossed it works out this time)!

If we have a boy it will be either Asa, Arlo or Ezra just to give you a feel for our style! Grin

Flora.

Love Flora, not keen on Astrid.

Asa, is a fab boys name.

manicinsomniac · 11/05/2014 13:40

Love Astrid. Absolutely gorgeous.

Flora is okay but I'm a bit meh abut it.

Love Arlo from your boys' names

stripedtortoise · 11/05/2014 14:35

I think they are both gorgeous. I'd probably go for Astrid at a push. It's more grown up for when she's 40.

burgatroyd · 11/05/2014 15:13

Astrid. Is it just me or is Flora appearing lots on these threads?

Pinksuitcase · 11/05/2014 18:34

We had both on our list and went for Flora and yes Flora is appearing lots. I know its a fab name, but please stop suggesting it!

ShadowFall · 11/05/2014 18:36

Astrid.

Flora just makes me think of the margarine.

weatherall · 11/05/2014 18:41

Astrid.

Flora is nice but she would get teased for it.

Uptheairymountain · 11/05/2014 18:45

Flora; it's my DD's name and everyone says how lovely it is.

Coincidentally, noticing your son's name, I was saying to my mum the other day that if I were to have a little boy in the future I'd probably call him Eli.

shobby · 11/05/2014 18:58

We considered Flora as our daughters name, but also had the 'sounds like margarine' comment which put me off, so it is her middle name instead. We called her little Flo when she was having a strop though. Now she is grown up she was asking why we hadn't called her Flora as she likes it and thinks it is a cool name.... You can't win eh...

weatherall - teased for being called Flora? That seems highly unlikely. There were 116 Floras born in 2011 alone as well as over 1500 Florences, many of who will probably be known as Flora. To children nowadays it is a very recognisable and normal name.

Astrid is far more unusual.

emsyj · 11/05/2014 19:18

Astrid. Love Astrid. We very very very almost called DD2 Astrid until my DMum made some comment about not liking it Hmm. It's gorgeous. Don't like Flora.

DitzyDonkey · 11/05/2014 22:12

The margarine thing doesn't really bother me tbh! The "Ass" thing with Astrid bothers me more....but I still love them both!

Theres loads of Astrids and Floras now, either is fine.

diddl · 12/05/2014 08:23

Flora without a doubt.

And Arlo.

squoosh · 12/05/2014 17:24

Flora reminds me of margarine, Astrid reminds me of astringent.

It's a toughie.

DitzyDonkey · 13/05/2014 20:02

Thanks squoosh Wink

Flora is lovely

TheWhispersOfTheGods · 13/05/2014 22:58

Astrid - I looooove it. Florie is better than Flora imo, I work with one and have thought a few times how nice it is. Flora feels very 'wet' to me.
