Erin is lovely

ThingsThatShine · 11/05/2014 02:40

Harriet and I don't think Hattie is inevitable! The others are nice too. Congrats on your new dd

Waimaz · 11/05/2014 04:56

Erin. Definately,beautiful name

puddeycat · 11/05/2014 06:02

Love all of them. My dd is 5 months and called Edie and alot of people comment on how her name has grown on them and how pretty it is x

DharmaBumpkin · 11/05/2014 07:10

Harriet could be Etta as a nickname?

I like the others too. Congratulations!

Busymumto3dc · 11/05/2014 07:14

Edie is my favorite on your list
I think it's lovely

Gennz · 11/05/2014 07:21

Harriet or Isobel. Mia feels a bit played out to me. It was very popular round here in the early 00s. One of my oldest (primary school) friends is named Harriet and nn was never Hattie.

Gennz · 11/05/2014 07:22

P.S. congratulations!

CrispyFern · 11/05/2014 07:31

I like Erin best.

I like Mia and Edie (although I'd give an Edie a 'proper' name on birth cert e.g. Edith, Edwina)

I dont like Erin. Its one of those cod Irish names that annoys me.

Isobel is nice, but everywhere.

Wishfulmakeupping · 12/05/2014 18:14

Like Harriet the best with Edie a close second if it short for Edith

funnyoldonion · 12/05/2014 18:25

I don't think that spelling (think it's Scottish) is the most popular spelling and it's my favourite. I would go with Isobel I agree about the cod Irish comment of Erin too. Go for the Scottish spelling of Isobel especially if it's not that popular round your way x

florascotia · 12/05/2014 18:42

You ask about popularity in Scotland.
Here is link to 2013 top 100 Scottish girls names:
www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/files2/stats/popular-forenames/2013/babiesnames-2013-t2.pdf

Mia = no 17; Erin = no 18; Jessica = no 7

Harriet, Edie and Isobel are not in Scottish top 100 but Isabella = no 42

Constantsarechanging · 12/05/2014 18:51

Thanks everyone, see settled on Isobel, Izzy.

Allalonenow · 12/05/2014 18:55

Jessica or Edith

funnyoldonion · 12/05/2014 20:00

Awwww congrats on Isobel, gorgeous name nearly named my little one Violet Isobel x

devoncreamtea · 13/05/2014 11:20

What about nn Hettie rather than Hatty?

I love Mia from your list too. Erin is lovely very strong. Isobel/Izzy just personally not a fan of, but I know lots of people love it. Don't worry about taking your time to name her - I always take the full 6 weeks!!! You have to be sure and there's so much getting to know her to be done! Enjoy x
