We're liking the name Alana, pronounced Al-ah-nah.
How would you spell it to be said this way..

Alana
Alanna
Alannah

Ect etc? Thanks in advance.

I really like this name. We're considering it as a middle name if this one is a DD, especially as it has family links. I like the Alannah spelling personally.

Lovely name! It's dd's middle name. We spell.it Alana.

nyldn · 05/05/2014 20:32

I think the first way is prettiest

BartBaby · 05/05/2014 20:39

It was on my list as Alana. We went for Elena in the end.

If you want to say 'Al-AH-nah' , the first spelling is closest, and leaves least room for variations.

The second two spellings could be said 'Al-ANN-ah', which is how some people like to say the name.

It's a pretty name, however you say it.

My sister is called Alana, we pronounce it how you spelt it but all my life I've called her Larn x

flowery · 06/05/2014 10:44

I would pronounce Alanna and Alannah like Anna/Hannah. I would pronounce Alana like Lana.

squoosh · 06/05/2014 11:03

To me Alannah is the 'proper' spelling.

I like the first spelling best. Gorgeous name whatever the spelling.

manicinsomniac · 06/05/2014 16:27

I like Alannah best.

I know one Alannah and one Alanna.

I've only ever known one (she's 30 now) and she spelt it Alannah. But I think I prefer the spelling Alana. Less fussy I think.
