Thoughts please?

I think I have always liked it, mostly because of Selina Scott on 'The Clothes Show' who seemed to me to to be the epitome of cool elegance.

I prefer the 'Selena' spelling, but it is a nice name.

I've just encountered a hispanophone whose name is Dioselina. Just thought I'd mention it in case you like it.

I like it. Also reminds me of Selina Scott. Though wasn't there a Selina in Home and Away years back, who started out a bit of a bad girl which was signified by her wearing heavy eyeliner? Anyway...I agree it's an elegant name.

The Selena spelling will look like it's homage to Gomez, so I would stick with the one you like.

Hadn't thought (or checked ) possible spellings. I think it does look nicer as 'Selena' now I see it written down.

Who/what is the Gomez connection?

Feeling troubled that I have no recollection of a Selina character in Home & Away. I clearly should have spent even more of the '90s watching Aussie soaps and naming the future children I would have.

It has taken me many years to wean myself off the name Isla as a potential baby name, having thought as a teenager that the actress Isla Fisher in H&A had a cool name. N.B. I still love 'Isla' but there seem to be a fair few of them around probably because of the aforementioned actress.

Tut, tut, Selina went out with Jesse the hot mechanic, she wore way too much eyeliner and got salmonella poisoning from a dirty dish cloth.

Selina is gorgeous name! much better than Selena. I immediately think of Selina from H&A but she was very pretty.

One of the loveliest women I know is called that (with the 'I' spelling) so I'd say it's a great name

Selena Gomez is a former child star, now actress/singer (like Britney and Miley but without the sleaze) but is well known as Justin Bieber's former girlfriend. She is also very pretty -she's the best known one with that spelling I would say.

I like it spelt Selena. I don't think you have to worry about the Selena Gomez connection, she pretty harmless. I think if she was going to go all Miley Cyrus on us, she would have done it by now.
