my first thoughts were it sounds like sunscreen! But if you like it go with it.

Do you like Mariella?

valece · 24/04/2014 18:36

I love it if you are Spanish, I know 2 very lovely ladies called Marisol. Do you like Luna? Again, I would have to say only if you are Spanish :)

alita7 · 24/04/2014 19:20

I would only go for it if you have spanish connections.

I like Natalia, Marina and Nicoletta.

maggiethemagpie · 24/04/2014 20:39

makes me think of that bum cream, anusol. Sorry, but it does!

CorporateRockWhore · 24/04/2014 20:41

Sounds a bit...pharmaceutical. Sorry.

TheAbominableWoman · 24/04/2014 20:41

I think I stayed in a Spanish hotel called that once.

Not keen on it as a name.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/04/2014 20:42

Don't like it, sorry. It sounds like the name of a cleaning product to me.

sonlypuppyfat · 24/04/2014 20:43

I second it sounds like bum hole cream.

MrsBungle · 24/04/2014 20:43

My first thought was athletes foot cream - I've no idea why.

bouquetofpencils · 24/04/2014 22:48

Marissa, Marina, Marietta, Marianna, Mariella are all lovely.

barnet · 24/04/2014 22:49

Mirella (italian)

AuntieStella · 24/04/2014 22:51

I think it's a lovely name, but don't think it would work in UK (mainly because of the -sol bit being too like the haemarrhoid cream)

SantanaLopez · 24/04/2014 22:55

I think it's really lovely.

ChickenMe · 24/04/2014 23:16

Eulalia, Noemi, Marta, Berta, Graciela, Nuria, Estel, Catalina..some names will only work if you have a Spanish connection IMO. Marisol is adorable but without that connection I'm not sure.

Only1scoop · 24/04/2014 23:19

Real Housewives of Miami....mother of Marisol....

Quite a shock....just can't get past that.... Sorry

Generally love Spanish names though Smile

mathanxiety · 25/04/2014 05:23

The DCs went to school with a lovely Marisol.

Other nice Spanish or N American Hispanic names are
Maribel (Puerto Rican)
Aracely
Xochitl (pr Soh-shee)
Ximena/Jimena (Kh or H sound for the X and J)
Renata
Antonella
Romina
Fabiana
Monserrat
Luciana
Beatriz

Graciela

badtime · 26/04/2014 08:17

How about Marisel or Marisela? They are versions of Marisa (which is also nice).

They would avoid the pile-cream problem.

NinjaLeprechaun · 26/04/2014 08:34

Marisol is actually a form of Marie, I think. Maricela is pretty too, and sounds similar.
My daughter has a friend named Inés, which I quite like.

MairzyDoats · 26/04/2014 08:36

I thought it sounded like a bathroom cleaner. Avoid unless you have a Spanish connection.
