Casper?

I have lots of lovely potential girls names (Anna, Alice, Annabel, Juliet, Beatrice, Polly, Holly etc) but am really struggling with boys names. Seeing as we have three girls and one boy, chances are this one could be a boy. The only name I vaguely like is Casper but dp says it makes him think 'friendly ghost'...! We both quite like Thomas but I'd prefer to have it as a middle name as I hate Tommy and would prefer something more unusual for a first name.

Do you like Casper? Based on my girls names, what boys names might I like?

Love it, Dp doesn't. They won't have a clue who the ghost is in our babies generation- I doubt most 10 year olds do either!

Love it too. Casper's my first choice if I have another boy Smile

I like it a lot but my dh said the same thing about the ghost and that it was too posh.
We sat near a family at the pantomime with a Caspar and I think hearing it used made dh find it a bit more normal! Unfortunately this Caspar was constantly misbehaving and being told off!

I really like Casper but DH vetoed because of the ghost. Had DD turned out to be a DS then I would have fought hard to overturn the decision. It wasn't he didn't like the name, it was just the connection, which in all honesty I think is dated. As others have suggested this generation won't have a clue. If you like it enough I would fight your corner.

How about jasper as an alternative? I know a little jasper and he gets lots of complements on his name.

I love it. You can pull an association from nearly every name if ou try. Casper the ghost won't mean anything to your babies generation. I really wouldn't let that put you off

I like it. I know a Casper, think he's about 8.

I'm not too keen, I prefer Caspian.

Or how about Julian or Julius?
