Name for DS2

Need to decide on a name for DS2, DS1 name was picked straight away with no list or disagreements.
This time we are struggling.
DS1 is George, we had thought about giving him William as his middle name but decided to save it incase we had and more DC.

William is still on the list but worried about the whole royal connection.

We also have
Henry
Harry
Edward
But they all have royal connections.

I really like Arlo but DP has vetoed it, going to try and push it for the middle name

Any input would be greatly appreciated really want to find him a name.

I think George & Arlo sound great together. Don't like William.

All lovely names but Arlo is my favourite (I am very biased though as I have a scrumptious hippy 3 year old with that name!)

I really want Arlo but DP is meh about it.
But he has said it's my choice this time he's convinced he picked George so might work that angle.

DP likes Oscar I like it but don't love it.

What about Thomas? I think that'd fit nicely with George

Blamenargles · 17/04/2014 17:58

We already have a Thomas in the family so we can't have that.

Why is it so hard

How about Hugo or Quentin?

Bowlersarm · 17/04/2014 18:01

I don't see why you can't have George and William. I know a few people with that combination. You just have traditional taste in names. The families I know who have both George and William, also have Edward, Alexander, Jamie, Charlie, and Nicholas.

BlueStarsAtNight · 17/04/2014 22:40

I like Henry best from your list, most classic boys names have some kind of a Royal link so I really wouldn't worry about that, though would probably steer clear of George and William.

Not a fan of Arlo I'm afraid, but my taste is definitely classic/royal types with boys, which I don't think Arlo is!

Gingerandcocoa · 17/04/2014 22:48

We are thinking of Arthur or Theodore for our baby boy...

JerusalemArtichoke · 17/04/2014 22:52

Arlo sounds like Harlow said with a south London accent. It's not even in the same league as George which is a classic gem.

George goes well with William, Henry, James, Arthur etc

Miles milo Hugo James wilf

George is a great name (DS2's middle name and was to be DD's first name!)

I also like (so you might!):
Alfred
William
Stanley
Arthur
Frederick
Henry
Albert
Edwin/Edward

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/04/2014 23:27

I like Oscar. Not fond of Arlo.

George and Laurence
George and Wilfred (avoids the royal thing)
