Middle name for Olive

and please don't suggest Oyl/Oil Grin

It is top of my list if this DC is a DD, but I cannot find a MN I like.

DD1s MN is Alice, and part of me wishes Id not bothered with a MN and kept Alice for dd2, but alas, I did not.

Any suggestions? doesnt necessarily need to flow as DD1 rarely gets both names together, but something along the same sort of genre/era that doesnt jar.

I like Olive Juliet .
I think you definetely need a long middle name though
Olive Alicia ?

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 13/04/2014 18:54

I find Alicia an awkward name re pronounciation. id say Aliss-ee-ah where others might say Al-ee-sha. And maybe a bit too similar to dds Alice.

I love Olive Eliza - was nearly DD2's name but was too similar to family member's born around the same time. Still wish we'd used it!

zipzap · 14/04/2014 21:01

My d gran was Olive but she hated it - she ws the youngest of several girls, all with pretty names (think lily, rosa etc) and all of whom had pretty middle names (Beatrice, eunice etc)

Apparently her parents were still arguing about what she was going to be called going up the church path to her christening - her dad reached the vicar first and said 'she's Olive and that's it' so she didn't even get a middle name.

Even at 98, when she died, she still resented her plain name and lack of middle name. So I'm biased against the name I'm afraid. But maybe it would be better if both parents have chosen it because they both like it and there's a middle name on it too, rather than being stuck with it as my gran was!
