Brother for Leo

Libbyloulou · 10/04/2014 06:58

Hello,
I would like opinions/suggestions of names for our second boy. First son's name is Leo.
Names we like (are considering) are:

Harry
Nicholas
Luca
Thomas

Middle names chosen are James Craig.
I don't think any name is standing out at the moment so any opinions or more suggestions would be much appreciated!

Henry
Sebastian
Max
Oskar

Nicholas reminds me of knicker less I'm afraid. Luca is too similar to Leo in my opinion

Artandco · 10/04/2014 07:10

James is also nice as first name if that's a possibility

Libbyloulou · 10/04/2014 07:15

James has already been used in my immediate family as a fn. This would have been our first choice.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks. I really like Daniel (Dan). DH needs a bit of persuasion on it though!

I quite like Nicholas though not keen on Nick and really dislike Nicky.
Harry is nice but very very popular if that puts you off.
Luca seems too close to Leo and not a massive fan of Thomas.

Zachary

Marcus
Rufus
Adam
George
Freddie
Alex
Tobias
Owen

Thanks for the suggestions.

Question about Oscar- how popular is it? How many do you know?

The other Leo we know has a brother called Oscar, that Leo is 14 and the Oscar is about 11. I think Oscar started off being quite unusual - I know one who is 23 then has become more and more popular, I know two who are 14 then one who is 13 and the 11 year old but I think it has shot up the popularity charts recently & I think I read somewhere on here that there is a character in Eastenders with a son named Oscar. In 2012 Oscar was less popular than Leo but it might be more popular now.

Eastpoint · 10/04/2014 19:25

No, I got it wrong in 2012 there were 3289 boys named Oscar (17th in popularity) and 3134 named Leo (20th). Harry, Oliver, Jack, Charlie & Jacob were the top 5 in England and Wales. Nicholas is not in the top 100, Thomas is 6th and Luca 61st.

Can you tell I should be cooking dinner?

LadyDowagerHatt · 10/04/2014 19:26

I know a Leo with a brother called Finn (christened Finlay). I always thought that was a good sibling set.

CheesyBadger · 10/04/2014 19:28

I know a lady with a Sammy and Leo

Libbyloulou · 10/04/2014 20:40

Thank you Eastpoint, very informative!

I'm not an Eastenders/soap watcher or fan so that's not welcome news. Although, if I remember rightly there was an Emmerdale baby named Leo right after ours.

Popularity factor is driving me towards Nicholas.
