How many Sebastians do you know?

Sebastian is one of my favourite boys names but I'm a bit concerned that it's become quite trendy/popular recently and will be one of those names with two/three plus at school.

How many baby/toddler Sebastians do you know?

I know three: 3, 8 and 44. The 8 year old is the only one in the school and this area that I know of.

Lovely name.

SavoyCabbage · 04/04/2014 14:23

I know two. They are both four.

PeachyTheSanctiMoanyArse · 04/04/2014 14:23

My son

Plus 1 other a year ahead, and the family Paediatrician's son.

Though mine is the only one to insist on being called Bas, the others are Seb.

I think it's perfect (and I have 3 others to compare with common and rare names)- well enough that people know it but unlikely to be replicated in his class.

moggle · 04/04/2014 14:24

Two. I think there will be more as well in my wider group of friends (middle class, mostly south London / Surrey). I do think it's hugely on the up.

moggle · 04/04/2014 14:25

The Sebastians I know are aged 1 and 2.

onetiredmummy · 04/04/2014 14:27

One who is 35. Was always nicknamed masturbation at school.

PeachyTheSanctiMoanyArse · 04/04/2014 14:42

OTM even my teens have failed to come up with that one for their brother! (DS4 is 6 by the way)

Youdontneedacriminallawyer · 04/04/2014 14:43

Two. Lord Coe, and the 15 year old brother of DDs friend.

Christelle2207 · 04/04/2014 14:44

One and he's 6. Known as Sebby, very cute.

StrawberryGashes · 04/04/2014 14:56

Aside from a baby in an online baby group I joined, and this baby is in another country, my cat is the only other Sebastian I know. I love the name.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 04/04/2014 14:57

In person? None.

Magix · 04/04/2014 14:57

None . But I live in the west of Scotland and that seams to be like a different world to the rest of MN Grin

StrawberryGashes · 04/04/2014 14:58

OTM that's such a shame, poor guy! I nickname my cat Se-bastard because he rips my carpet to shreds.

ben5 · 04/04/2014 14:59

I know a 2 year old and a 12 year old

OneMoreThenNoMore · 04/04/2014 14:59

I know one human Sebastian, he's 2. I also know a feline one; he must be about 6 Grin

Lovely name.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 04/04/2014 15:00

I know 1 and that's 1 too many imo. Always seems like a weak and feeble name to me. Sorry.

mrsdoubtfiresspecs · 04/04/2014 15:03

1 He's 7 & called Seb for short.

NorbertDentressangle · 04/04/2014 15:04

3 (aged 2 years, 12 years and 14 years)

littlepeas · 04/04/2014 17:01

Popularity matters much less with very classic names. A work colleague of hubby's has a little Sebastian and there are two at my son's nursery. We're considering it if dc4 is a boy.

grizzabellia · 04/04/2014 17:14

Locally, one aged 8 and one about 10 months. Also a friend of a friend has one age 3. I would say it is increasing but maybe not likely to be massively popular.

chocolateshoes · 04/04/2014 17:21

One at DS's school aged 8

Surf25 · 04/04/2014 17:37

One aged 2 and one in mid-30s
I love it

Tranquilitybaby · 04/04/2014 17:41

Only one.

Gowaygoway · 04/04/2014 17:43

2- one Sebby (3) and one Basty (about 10)
