I have an oscar and I have a friend who has an oscar and a poppy! Our oscars are 11/12 now. It wasmt very popular whenwe chose it but has got more popular tho has dropped back down the charts again.

I like both names :)

Alisvolatpropiis · 30/03/2014 22:21

I like Oscar. Not really keen on Poppy.

Sharaluck · 30/03/2014 22:59

Poppy is nice.

I don't like oscar at all, sorry.

shoobidoo · 30/03/2014 23:02

I don't like Oscar/Ossie at all.

Poppy is cute for a little girl, but I'm not sure I'd want to be called Poppy as an adult. Bit cutesy like Poppet.

saintmerryweather · 30/03/2014 23:04

Both really ordinary unoriginal names nowadays

scarletforya · 30/03/2014 23:07

Meh

Rtfairy · 30/03/2014 23:07

I love both!

cottonwoolmum · 30/03/2014 23:09

Love Oscar. Like Poppy.

CretaKano · 30/03/2014 23:14

I love both!
I have an Oscar. If he was a girl he would have been Poppy Smile

Chloerose75 · 30/03/2014 23:18

Both nice names, fairly popular if that doesn't bother you.

PreciousPeach · 31/03/2014 00:07

I think both are lovely and would actually make a great sibset!

Both lovely

squoosh · 31/03/2014 13:46

I like Oscar although its current popularity would put me off.

Poppy is a bit too babyish and girlie for me.

CPtart · 31/03/2014 14:23

Oscar is ok.
Despise Poppy.

alita7 · 31/03/2014 14:26

I like both the only Oscar I know is 12.

Emma028 · 31/03/2014 15:23

Love them both!!

DramaAlpaca · 31/03/2014 15:40

Oscar is OK.

Poppy is much too twee for me.

aoife24 · 31/03/2014 16:11

and Lucinda Grin

bouquetofpencils · 31/03/2014 18:03

For an adult Poppy I think of actress Poppy Montgomery. I think there are lots of girly names like Poppy,Daisy etc but this is true of past generational names which grow with the person. I like it as a sole classic happy sounding name.
Love Oscar too, again classic but fun sounding name.

Kaekae · 31/03/2014 18:27

Both nice but both extremely popular. You'll be forever turning your head to it being yelled by someone else in a public place!

LynetteScavo · 31/03/2014 18:30

Both are lovely names. Smile

But I suspect both names might be the kind to become popular, and then fade again, like Steven/Sarah in the 70's.

Jellymum1 · 31/03/2014 18:30

both are lovely. poppy actually has a really good "soul meaning" if you look it up. obviously it just literally means flower but if you look up spiritual name association it says that poppy's usually grow up to be very lovely and important strong women indeed

Whatsyourpoint · 31/03/2014 19:32

There's a set of twins in our baby group called Oscar & Poppy.

ouryve · 31/03/2014 19:40

I'm cuddling an Oscar, right now. It wasn't quite such a popular name, 8 years ago.

A couple across the road have a labradoodle called Oscar. You might want to look for Michael McKintyre's sketch about the name, before deciding :o
