Baby boy no.3

muzmum · 29/03/2014 18:32

We had baby boy no.3 yesterday and he's nameless.

The only name we can agree on is Hamish. Feel like it's a bit 'out there' when our other 2 are in the top 30. Also concerned DS3 will feel lumbered with an unusual name.

Any thoughts!?

I like it.

Also Seamus.

Ruprekt · 29/03/2014 18:34

Go for Hamish then. Quite cute!

Also like Fergus, Theo, Rufus. SmileSmile

Congrats!

What are your other boys called?

DessieLou · 29/03/2014 18:38

If you like it & it suits him then go for it! I think it's sweet.??

Ludways · 29/03/2014 18:40

TeaAndALemonTart · 29/03/2014 18:42

I like it. Go for it and congratulations!

ToffeeJungle · 29/03/2014 18:45

Not keen on Hamish but all that matters is you like it!

Of those others suggested so far I like Seamus (love Shay), Rufus and Theo.

Would be interesting to know what your other DC are called.

Congratulations!

Depends where you live too. Here in Scotland,Hamish, isn't "out there" at all!

soontobeslendergirl · 29/03/2014 19:20

Its the Scottish version of James or the vocative of the Gaelic Seamus - so all related.. You could put James on the BC and still call him Hamish...

Thanks!

We are in London but my side of the family is entirely Scottish. Just a bit wary about looking like a plastic Jock (?!) or try hard.

James and Hamish are both family names but we have reasons for not using James.

Hamish is a fine name.

I do love Shay though. If only dh had agreed ...

Theonlyoneiknow · 29/03/2014 20:55

What about Magnus?

Surf25 · 29/03/2014 21:00

I don't think it's try hard, especially not if your family are Scottish..
What about Magnus or Fergus? Callan or Torren? Struan?
If you love it, go for Hamish!

dementedma · 29/03/2014 21:03

Angus?

DomesticGoddess31 · 29/03/2014 21:16

I have a brother Hamish and think its an awesome name. Go for it!

scarletforya · 29/03/2014 21:24

Yes. Great name!

hoobypickypicky · 29/03/2014 21:26

That's really creepy. I read your first sentence and said to myself "Hamish!".

Then I read on. :)

You've got to name him Hamish now, it's meant to be! Grin

Mintyy · 29/03/2014 21:29

Congratulations on your new baby boy! Flowers.

I think Hamish is an excellent name, especially if you are Scottish.

muzmum · 30/03/2014 21:55

Strangely, we considered almost all of the names suggested. We're sticking with Hamish. Just need to sort middle names. Brothers are Max and Lucas.

Thanks!
