What do you think? We like old fashioned but not common names. Any suggestions welcome, 4 weeks to go! :)

Cute but reminds me of an owl for some reason?

Sorry these are really not my taste so totally understand if you don't like my list, but all other old fashioned names I can think of seem to also be popular!!!

Errol was an old owl belonging to the Weasley family in the Harry Potter books Grin I think only HP geeks would make that connection though.

It's not a name I'd use myself but I do quite like it.

shoobidoo · 27/03/2014 12:04

Errol is a great name! Cool, classic and underused. I wouldn't have though HP and doubt many would, especially in years to come. Anyway, nothing wrong with an owl association.

ClareaBear · 27/03/2014 12:12

It's pretty cool actually! Wasn't sure when I first read it but it grew on me after about 5 seconds lol. My only concern is I like names that can have nn's or affectionate versions and there isn't much you can do with Errol. That's a very personal preference though.

fussychica · 27/03/2014 13:01

Well for me it will always be the actor Errol Flynn or the guy in Hot Chocolate. Not bad but not a name I would have used.

RabbitPies · 27/03/2014 17:21

A definite no from me. It's horrid.

squoosh · 27/03/2014 18:11

Errol Flynn was cool and suave despite being called Errol.
