Help please, can't decide on boys middle name

I'm due a week today! We've both amazingly decided on a final first name - Felix
but can't decide on middle names.
DH is happy to go with his middle name - Henry and is not keen on a second but I think I'd like a second middle name, I'm not sure why but I'd like something longer.

Our surname starts with T so anything beginning with A is out.
So it would be Felix Henry .... or Felix .... Henry

I've thought of the following:

Montague
Emile
Rufus
Edward
Charles
Wolf
Emile
Bruno
Monte
Emerson
Louis
Sebastian
William
Ralph
Lawrence
Hugo

Anyone have any preferences, or does it all sound a bit pretentious?

I think the longer name at the end works better with Henry in the middle

Felix Henry Emerson
Felix Henry Sebastian
Felix Henry Laurence

Or few more options

Felix Henry Theodore
Felix Henry Leonard

I think the middle option needs to have a few syllables to work. Ie:
Felix Leonardo Henry
Felix Maximilian Henry

I imagine I may be in the minority but I love Wolf :)

I think middle names should be one or morris the following

  1. A sensible name they can chose later if they're not keen on the way out first name you gave them (my DC have these)
  1. The way out name you would have loved to have called them (guessing Wolf maybe?)
  1. A name that means something to you, a family member or favourite author, musician etc (my DC's middle names have stories behind them)

I like a lot of your other names, but do they have any meaning for you?

Think 2 middle names is perfectly fine btw. My best friend had 3 when we were growing up, I was very jealous! Grin

Morris? Should say more of!

Thank you :)
Yes Wolf was DH's first choice for a first name but we chickened out.

The Monte/Montague suggestion is because it's associated to where we first met and DH loves being in the mountains/climbing, snowboarding etc.

Felix Henry Montague
Felix Henry Wolf

The first one flows nicely, Wolf is still my favourite :)

I think wiggly has offered some fantastic advice.
I also like Emerson for a middle due to its literary connotation

ellieberry · 22/03/2014 07:02

Thanks everyone for your advice, it's looking like Wolf might still be in with a chance :)

I think you're allowed to go a bit wild with middle names if you've gone for a reasonably conventional first name, and vice versa.

BlueChampagne · 23/03/2014 22:53

We're ford
Torin

BlueChampagne · 24/03/2014 13:42

Wretched i-thingy - Wreford or Torin

ellieberry · 27/04/2014 01:12

We've still not chosen a middle name, we've decided not to go with Wolf as it might be a step to far. People are surprised when we say he's called Felix!

Montague has also been dismissed, so it's looking like it's one of these:

Felix Henry Rufus
Felix Edward Henry

Any preferences?
