Love

Orangeisthenewbanana · 13/03/2014 09:08

Oops, sorry got over-excited! Smile

Love them both, and can't really choose between them. Imogen Gabriella would let you use them both (not sure the other way round works.

If you don't want to use one as a middle name then I guess it might come down to your surname & how they each sound with that if you can't decide any other way.

Gabriella

jumblebee · 13/03/2014 09:24

Gabriella seems a little too frilly for me personally, I do like Gabrielle though. I love Imogen Smile

Buzimomma · 13/03/2014 09:49

Gabriella by a long way - love it!

mammamiaaaaa · 13/03/2014 10:03

I don't love the nn gabby but can live with it. But don't like the idea of it being her name all the time as in Gabby Logan. I can't have Ella or Ellie as I already have a daughter named Isabella/Bella.

Definitely Imogen, very pretty and more unusual.
I also think Gabriella and Isabella are quite similar and you definitely run the risk of very similar nicknames as they grown up.

Spychic · 13/03/2014 10:09

I prefer Gabriella as a name, but agree that it's too similar to Isabella. Imogen and Isabella had a nice ring though.

Pickofthepops · 13/03/2014 10:20

I like both esp. Gabriella which Dh has vetoed as he reckons it's a porn star name. I hope to work on him bit have been trying for years ! . I love it. Like Imogen too. Agree Gabby isn't as lovely as Gabriella in full but don't think it's terrible.

AugustRose · 13/03/2014 10:21

Imogen definitely - but then I have an Imogen so I would say that!

minipie · 13/03/2014 10:27

Hmm. I like both names but think they could both be a bit too similar to your other daughter Isabella?

minipie · 13/03/2014 10:28

Between the two though I would choose Imogen to go with Isabella.

Gabriella and Isabella is too samey I think and she will get called Gabby so if you don't like that then I would avoid Gabriella.

mammamiaaaaa · 13/03/2014 10:28

Can I ask you ladies something that I don't want to make too public (I know bit late!) as my surname is fairly uncommon but has created a few issues along the way with picking a name ..but here goes... Can you see a problem with Imogen Lush when you read them together?

OP posts:
sarahwho · 13/03/2014 10:32

They are both really nice but I like Gabriella the most

minipie · 13/03/2014 10:41

Can't really see any problems. I suppose if it's shortened to Im she could be Im Lush (I'm Lush) but that's not a terrible thing. And that's really the worst I can think of!

mammamiaaaaa · 13/03/2014 11:03

Someone said 'I'm a gin lush' could be a problem. When I first heard it I thought that was ridiculous. But not I'm doubting myself and wondering if other people will see this or come up with it.

OP posts:
minipie · 13/03/2014 12:32

I would never have thought of that and doubt anyone else will tbh! Especially other children which is really the only thing you need be concerned with.

itfcbabe · 14/03/2014 03:38

Imogen but I have one so i would be bias.

Tranquilitybaby · 19/03/2014 23:33

Imogen is one of my favourites x

williaminajetfighter · 19/03/2014 23:58

Imogen. Dislike Gabby as nn due to sounding harsh and a bit like 'gobby...'

Allalonenow · 20/03/2014 00:09

I think they are both lovely, but Imogen is my favourite. It's classy, cool and will 'grow up' with her.

stingaling · 20/03/2014 00:09

Imogen

hellokittymania · 20/03/2014 00:12

Gabriella! Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!

Chloerose75 · 20/03/2014 00:16

Imogen and the gin lush thing would never have crossed my mind

Mireio · 20/03/2014 16:15

I thought of 'I'm a gin lush' before I saw you had written it. I definitely prefer Gabriella.
