Baby boys name

Hello all, I'm a newbie here expecting my first baby 21st April. We know we are having a baby boy, and I didn't have any boys names in my arsenal ahead of finding out, I was convinced we would have a girl!

We are toying with Gene or Geno. Can you let me know your thoughts?

Thanks!

Sam

I love Gene (despite the Gallagher connection).

Prefer Gene to Geno - would keep hearing 'genome'

I prefer Geno but would use the romance languages (i.e. Italian, Spanish) spelling, Gino, if you want it pronounced Gene-o. Geno looks like it is said similar to Genoa without the "a" on the end.

Gene is nice. We know a toddler called Eugene that has really grown on me!

Geno makes me think of Gino and Mel. So it's going to depend on how quickly his star wanes us to whether or not this is a winner.

Dislike both, but Gene better than Geno (and now I've got Dexy's in my head).

I prefer Gene, I think many people will spell Geno as Gino and presume you have some sort of Latin connection (although if you do maybe this is a good thing?).

Call him Gene and Geno can be one of your nicknames for him.
