I think this may be 'the one' but as I have canvassed so many opinions, I have got some niggling concerns about the name-
Is it too hard/harsh sounding?
Does it sound like a medicine or energy company?

Silly I know but I just have to get past these final niggles...

Also which middle name Imogen Charlotte or Imogen Sophia?

I love it, but I confess to a moment of panic when I have to pronounce it (in situations where someone else hasn't said just it) because I can never remember whether it's with a hard or soft 'g'. This is probably just me, though.

Also is it normal to get cold feet with a name before it you get used to it or does it mean it is not the right one?

I have an Imo. She is both healthy and energetic. And lovely. Nearly 25 too! I picked the name out when I was half her age.

Sorry but I really, really dislike it. It sounds very hard to me and just, well, not nice. Although I am sure most people will disagree.

I went to school with an Imogen (it was a rare name back then) and she was called "Imagine" quite a bit. Not the worst thing to call somebody I know, but would still get annoying after a while! It was also mispronounced as i-MOG-in sometimes, although I would hope that it's current popularity would at least mean that people know how to say it properly now!

Out of your middle name choices I prefer Sophia .

I waver between liking it a lot to really disliking it. It was my runner up name and I'm glad now we didn't choose it. However IMHO marmite names an an awful lot more interesting than names people 'like'.

Not a fan of Charlotte, I think its a dreadfully ugly name when it's said out loud as are most names beginning with 'Ch' but I really love the spelling of it and how it looks and I think it flows nicely with Imogen.

DS would have been Imogen if he was a girl, and Imogen Charlotte was one of the main contenders. Imogen Sophia is pretty too, though.

I like it, and she's one of my favourite Jilly Cooper romantic heroines . Don't like any of the shorts for it, though - though generally I'm keen on using the actual name, rather than a short, so that's just me.

Love it, could also use Jen/Gen as a nickname.

Just thought I'd mention that Imogen is a rare (unique?) example of a name in current usage which was invented by Shakespeare - in Cymbeline, to be precise.

And oddly, in the 1623 first folio (where it was first published) it was spelled 'Innogen' but modern editors have substituted the 'nn' for 'm'.

I have an Imogen Sophia Rose. Hate all the nn's so she is Imogen but the 20 y/o one down the road is known as 'Mog'!

We chose it as Innogen is gaelic for maiden and we wanted something that honoured our roots. Shakespeare misspelled it. One minor downside seems to be that it is practically unheard of outside of the UK so foreigners sometimes think she is called Imagine.

I have a 3yo Imogen Elizabeth, and I love the name - strong, feisty, brave and sweet too, just like my little girl (sob). She is usually an Immy, but I think Imogen is also a great grown up name.

I have an Imogen Paige.

She goes by "Bean" or Immi.

I chose her name when I was ten heard it called in the street, thought it was beautiful and decided then and there. Took me 9 years to use it but I'm so glad I did. It suits her right down to her filthy little feet too.

mamma she is only 4, but loves it so far both her 'short name' Immy and her 'long name' Imogen as she calls them!
