4 days to go - Carla, Amber or Freya? Pls help!

I've resisted posting until now as I though DH and I should choose ourselves without input. But we're 4 days from due date without a decision and so need some urgent help!

Our top 3 and my reservations about them are below. Surname is 2 syllables beginning with D....Connie is a definite middle name as its a family name.

Carla Connie D - this is our favourite on its own, but I am worried it will always be misheard as Cara / Clara / Carly etc, particularly Clara as that seems to be gaining popularity

Amber Connie D - this was our first thought when we found out I was pregnant and we really like it. But is it too new age, or potentially chavvy?

Freya Connie D - we really like this too, I see it as a pretty name. But we had been trying to avoid anything so high up the popularity ratings. (Hence why Carla fit our bill as its a known, familiar name without being very common or popular.)

Other names we both agree we like are Ivy, Bethany, Ruby, Caitlin, Hazel and Rhona. I love Heidi but DH is really against.

Thanks in advance!

I would say go for Carla, but I'm a bit biased as that's my name! I've always loved it and people always comment on how nice and different it is, but it's not so unusual that no-one has heard of it.

Yes, very occasionally people mishear it as Carly or Carol Hmm but I think a lot of names get that, and you only have to correct people once.

I'm not sure Carla and Connie 'go' but as many other people have said, it's very rare to say the first and middle name together, the middle name is just something that's occasionally written on a form.

If you like Hazel then please don't discount it just because one of the NCT Mums is called that. You may not stay friends forever, and even if you do does it really matter. I'm sure she would be flattered.

Not keen on Amber, Freya is too popular.

I like Carla, but not with Connie.

Of all the names you've mentioned Connie is IMO the nicest by a long way.

Carla will be misheard and miswritten all the time.. mainly for Carly ime!

Thanks so much for all your help! Your comments have helped us to rule out Freya - and I think we are probably just leaning towards Carla, but it is close!

Thanks again, it is great to know they aren't names that are universally hated!
