I met a little boy called Ace the other day. Hadn't ever considered it as a name before but he really lived up to it.
I also think Teddy is a pretty cool name.

TremoloGreen · 10/08/2014 21:16

Jago
Rafferty
Roman

frankiebuns · 11/08/2014 07:26

Nephew is vinnie, I know a teddy, lennox, casper if this was a boy this time round it would have been fletcher or spencer

MarrogfromMars · 11/08/2014 07:35

Now for me Fletcher just makes me think of Porridge...

TierAufTier · 11/08/2014 07:59

I have encountered a couple of Lincoln's recently which I quite like, though a bit too out there for me to use myself.

I like a lot of surname-sounding names but we have a double barrelled surname so to add another would be a bit OTT.

I love love love the name Julian. It's one of my dearest friend's names, and he HATES it, I honestly think he wouldn't forgive me if I used it as a first name, he feels that strongly about it.

DSD wants to call her DS (long way in the future!) Renton, after a manga/anime character. Actually she will probably call all of her children anime names :o

I have had positive comments about DS' middle name Reeve, it has family connections but again too out there to have used as a first name.

I heard of twins Draco and Draven.

Also once on the bus there was a mum with a little boy called Garcyn. At least I'm guessing the spelling (if I wasn't so damn shy I would've asked) - pronounced Gar-sin. I like it - sounds like a cool detective or something.

poorincashrichinlove · 11/08/2014 08:44

I know of a Rivage. Seems a bit made up to me and I can't get used to it.

BumpNGrind · 11/08/2014 10:35

I know a Lincoln in his mid 30's, it's funny to hear his name described as 'out there' because when an adult tells you their name you accept it far more readily than when you hear it attributed to a child IYSWIM.

fuzzpig · 11/08/2014 11:18

That's an interesting point. I wonder if it's because when it's a child you are more likely to consider the parents making that choice (like if you hear a toddler's name being called out at the shops or something, the parents will be there) whereas when you meet an adult it wouldn't really come up.

Thisvehicleisreversing · 11/08/2014 14:57

I adore 'cool' boys names such as

River
Hunter
Forrest
Max
Xander
Dexter
Casper
Flynn
Logan
Zach
Corbin
Harlen

My DSs have 2 of these names. Smile

Marcipex · 11/08/2014 15:05

Not sure really about any of these, I know an aggressive Asa and a completely wet Atticus.
Thinking of the really cool boys I know, Tom, Rhys, Alexander , Henry, Tom and Tom .
Therefore your best bet is to go for Tom!

ShovettyMcShovetty · 11/08/2014 17:34

TierAufTier I knew a Draven when I was a teenager and he was super un-cool...

GoblinMarket · 11/08/2014 17:37

a lot of these are way too try hard
Hendrix eek

coastergirl · 11/08/2014 18:04

It's funny how differently we all see things. I hate the majority of names on this thread. I think people just try way too hard to be wacky! I like Ben, Callum, Josh. I think names should be easy, don't want my child to have to spend their life repeating their name and spelling it out to people.

SilveryMoon · 11/08/2014 18:12

I heard a boy called Coby on holiday, thought that was pretty fab.
I wanted to call ds1 Ford, but dp wouldn't even consider it.
I think the coolest name I ever came across is Elvin and he was the most beautiful little boy.

ashtrayheart · 11/08/2014 18:13

Otis and Pablo.

Strokethefurrywall · 11/08/2014 18:35

I really loved Lincoln when I was pregnant with DS1 (didn't know what we were having).

We ended up naming him Carter so Lincoln is no longer on any list for fear of sounding like die hard US presidential nut jobs. We're not, by the way...

OysterandPearl · 18/08/2014 16:07

Rex (wish I'd called DS2 this)

Hunter

Juno

Archer

sleepdodger · 18/08/2014 23:07

The coolest name or coolest child??

FixItUpChappie · 18/08/2014 23:23

There is an Odin at DS's nursary - I love it.

tmae · 18/08/2014 23:41

My brother is a Sullivan.

I love so many of these names and suggested lots to my DH, he said no to all of them but agreed to the most "I'm not sure if this is too out there" name so that is my son's name. No doubt a lot of people internally roll their eyes!

Wetthemogwai · 19/08/2014 00:00

I've managed to convince DP on franklin for possible future ds Grin

I know a little Ace and a little Vakaryn, not brave enough to use them but I think they're cool!

I will echo the previous 'Wesley?! Wesley!' Nothing cool about Wesley unless he was a VERY cool boy!

MrsGiraffe12 · 19/08/2014 10:17

Wesley is a cool dude, his nickname is Wez and he's just so laid back and chilled it suits him. Not my DC I must add!

A friend has just had a Rory which I think is quite cool x

TwelveLeggedWalk · 19/08/2014 10:25

My DS is on this list a couple of times. He is super-cool and only 3, I really hope he keeps that confidence at school.

When I was pregnant I loved the name Lysander, but that would've been a hard one to carry off around here!

ElephantsNeverForgive · 19/08/2014 10:51

I like Rory
Caleb
Fynn
Ellis
Max
Jouhl it's spelt much more sensibly, but my minds gone blank

ElephantsNeverForgive · 19/08/2014 10:53

DH found this chances of going to Cambridge by name
