I met a little boy called Ace the other day. Hadn't ever considered it as a name before but he really lived up to it.
I also think Teddy is a pretty cool name.

I like Atticus, Dexter, River and Lachlan.

They all sound pretty cool to me. Names like Julian and Percy do not. Funny how we all think so differently.

I often come across names I love - just the name itself, not necessarily connected with a little boy. Current favourites include Silas (everyone I've spoken to in RL has been quite negative about it, but I like it so much that it's even replaced my all-time favourite name - Josiah - as a name for a future DS, since I can't stand Jo(e) as a shortening, and it would have to be Si for short, which doesn't go with Silas), Theo, and Thaddeus nn Thad (but those two would have to be either/or - again, not a good sibset).

I've used to volunteer in a preschool, and came across some gorgeous little guys with names that really suited them, like Lucian, Keiton, Ozkan, Sai Nikhil, Alfonzo (pron. Ah-fonz), and the most adorable little Polish boy, Mateusz nn Matty.

It's definitely the little guy who makes the name, and not the other way around.

Just call him 'Boy' - can't go wrong.

ODearMe · 07/08/2014 22:24

Asa

As a teen I knew a little boy called Griffin, Griff for short.

gamescompendium · 07/08/2014 22:58

DS's name is on this list, but we didn't choose it to be 'cool', it's a very traditional name where I'm from. I knew it would turn up here though, it has the MN seal of approval, and even passes the High Court Judge Test. Get me!

A friend has a Gabriel and a Cosmo. Both pretty cool names!

mathanxiety · 08/08/2014 03:15

The three coolest little boys I know are named Kevin.

FrozenYogurt · 08/08/2014 05:07

I know an Atlas, a Cal (which I love) and a Ziggy. We're in Oz though. The most 'out-there' names I came across back home in the UK were River and Xavier. We used to live in a very 'Harry/Oliver/Toby/William' area.

it's an irish name and I love love love it but our surname is brennan and that would be cruel!

noitsachicken · 08/08/2014 13:50

I have a Max, if this bump is a boy he will be Alexander nn Xander.
Max and Xander sound like cool brothers.
Although also love Franklin, but not sure I could convince DH on that one.

MrTumblesCrackWhore · 08/08/2014 14:04

Rex and Tobias

zazA09Jane · 08/08/2014 14:24

Blaze with a sister called Flame

BumpNGrind · 08/08/2014 15:50

My DM went to school in the 50's. In her class was a boy called Dragon.

My cousin also teaches a little boy called Duke.

QisforQcumber · 08/08/2014 16:04

Huxley is fabulous!

Strokethefurrywall · 08/08/2014 18:53

I have a Sullivan 4starmyarse - I've had plenty of "that's such a cool name!" declarations as well.

I love Roman and always wanted that about 10 years ago but my now married surname is a two syllabel name and also begins with R so didn't think it sounded right.

Ace
Neo
Lachlan
Spike

Strokethefurrywall · 08/08/2014 18:56

I also know a Huxley, Fletcher and Franklin (nn Frankie)

I also like Cassian and Silas too.

BikeRunSki · 08/08/2014 19:09

I know a young Amos. Great name.

I also know of a 2 yo Peter/Pete. Pretty unusual in his age group. Whereas my 70 something uncle Peter thinks that Ethan, Zak and Alfie are all very strange names.

cece · 08/08/2014 19:18

why would you wamt a cool name?
Some of the names on this thread seem a bit wtf to me. but hey it would be boring if we all liked the same things.

RabbitSaysWoof · 08/08/2014 20:33

I love Buster. Love it so much! Wasn't allowed to use it though. Sad
I met a Jed once I was really disappointed to find out he's real name was Robert.
