Alexandra or Norah

Baby has already arrived and still without a name. Norah is husbands choice and Alexandra is mine I think. Husband has left it totally up to me as together we don't seem to be able to come to a decision. I think Alexandra is the safe option as I think Norah is abit out there and might provoke a negative response in family and friends. Just wanted to see what others thought.

Love Nora.

DramaAlpaca · 23/02/2014 21:22

Alexandra without a doubt. Beautiful & classic.

I find Nora/h a very ugly name, sorry.

gymboywalton · 23/02/2014 21:24

alexandra is beautiful and classic and elegant
norah is ugly

Alexandra. By all the country miles.

Norah with or without the h is not the most attractive name.

canyourearme · 23/02/2014 21:43

Love nora no h. Congrats

Until recently I'd have said definitely no to Norah, but I know of one who was born last year, and now I think it's one of the best new baby names I've heard of! Her mum is a pretty cool, bubbly person though and the little one seems to be following in her footsteps. It's really made the point to me that it's the child who makes the name, rather than the other way around.

Leonora nn Nora

I vote Norah! Gorgeous!

DailyBread · 24/02/2014 04:04

I know a 3 year old Norah and a 2 year old Nora. I like the "h".

Alexandra is a very grand name I think. Nora/h is sweeter. They're just very different.

Take your time wi the decision. There's really no rush - people can wait.

mathanxiety · 24/02/2014 05:36

Nora or Norah -- both gorgeous. I know three under 10 and a few teens.

Alexs and Alis and Allys are two a penny round here. And Lexis who are short for Alexandra. There are a few in every class.

I prefer Nora (without the h), but do immediately think 'bloody nora!'
