What does everyone think of this combination? I love Verity Clementine written down, but I'm not too sure when spoken.

Note: I pronounce Clementine Clemen-teen.

Yes its lovely I know a Verity its a nice name, thing about middle names who ever says their full names?

MarvellousMechanicalMouseOrgan · 20/02/2014 20:40

I prefer it as a combo with the other pronunciation of Clementine, it seems to be easier to say.

HoneyandRum · 20/02/2014 20:43

Love both names, go for it!

Davidhasselhoffstoecheese · 21/02/2014 20:05

Violet also could be nice

lljkk · 21/02/2014 20:07

I shudder at them both (sorry but you should never ask online unless you want blunt opinions).
Just use what you like. If you love 'em use 'em.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 21/02/2014 20:08

Love them both.

SilkStalkings · 22/02/2014 11:49

It's okaaaaay but bordering on the twee. Sounds like a shortlived would-be mumpreneur w-a-h-m business selling handmade unwashable keepsake baby blankets that cost far more to make than can be sold for.

Allalonenow · 22/02/2014 11:51

It's a lovely name Smile

ThreeBecameFour · 22/02/2014 16:46

I am not sure. It is very traditional for my taste.

Both names are nice IMO, but they don't go well together.

Verity was on my list, but dh vetoed it because he knew a Verity at school, who used to get called Ferrety.

ButICantaloupe · 22/02/2014 16:55

Sorry, OP. They aren't a good combination IMO. It just sounds a 'bit much'.

Verity on its own is lovely, though. Smile

Hewhodares · 22/02/2014 17:01

Such beautiful names but I'm not sure together?

MarysDressSways · 23/02/2014 11:22

I think it's lovely!

Nancy66 · 23/02/2014 11:40

nice names but not together. Bit OTT

Theonlyoneiknow · 23/02/2014 12:26

I really like Verity but not so keen on Clementine as the middle name. Any other middle name options?

truthvoyager · 24/02/2014 01:47

There is also Aria. DH likes this one, but I thought it was a bit too modern. Thoughts?

Another is Maya, which is the mn of an aunt I'm very fond of.

So, instead of Verity Clementine, there could also be:

Verity Aria
Verity Maya

Please let me know what you all think of these alternatives.

IMO I think it's a bit of a mouthful. On it's own, Verity is a lovely name but in combination with Clementine, it sounds a bit pretentious. Of course, the second name rarely comes into it, so won't make a blind bit of difference unless you are thinking of hyphenating the name.

LettertoHermioneGranger · 24/02/2014 02:41

Verity Clementine sounds very American Southern Belle to me. A bit twee. I like both names on their own, and I like Aria.

butterfliesinmytummy · 24/02/2014 03:41

I like Verity, but then I have a Verity Elizabeth, after a great grandmother. She gets called Vivi.

SilkStalkings · 24/02/2014 18:46

Aria is awesome. Operatic references and homage to Arya Stark, a worthy role model for any girl.

felicisbirdsong · 25/02/2014 08:53

How about

Verity Violet
Verity Primrose
Verity Lavender

if you want to continue with an 'organic' theme?

Winglet · 25/02/2014 10:40

I think that is just lovely :)

SilkStalkings · 25/02/2014 21:00

Since Verity means truth, how about another virtue/meaning?
Verity Belle
Verity Honour
Verity Joy
Verity Justinia
Verity Serena
Or even a tortology with Verity Alithea.
