Is Iris becoming popular now? A friend has named her new DD this and I haven't heard it in use recently. Is it popular like Lily, Daisy, etc?

I know a five-year-old Iris. Wasn't sure at the time, seems more common now. I think it's cute!

Lovely name. Getting more popular but not heard so frequently as Lily or Daisy.

It's building in popularity.Remember not thy long ago daisy and lily weren't even on the radar ( I blame Harry potter for the lily phenomenon) and now people avoid seems to avoid lily but still go for a flower name. Also more violet's appearing.

That said its really lovely name. I think all flower names are nice. Sometimes names are popular for good reason!

Sorry should have said I work with various children/ young people in schools and groups and I know of several Iris's under 10

It's got a bit more edge than Lily and Daisy which are cute and fluffy. Irises are cool as flowers goSmile

I have a 9 week old called Iris. It's not unusual but not too popular either, nice balance. Iris is also the Greek goddess of rainbows.
