We think we've finally decided on a name for our baby if he is a boy but it begins with H.

I know living where we do the H will be dropped constantly.

Would that put you off?

I think it depends on what name it is, something like Harrold dropped to Arrold would be irritating but it doesn't lose and meaning.

I am a H name that always got dropped so I developed a nn that meant the emphasis was on it and didn't have any issues.

DD is Emilia and people always say Amilia and as soon as she could say her own name she corrected them to Eh Milia and knows her name when it is said correctly if that makes sense.
