Looney Luna

Luna-tic

AmberLeaf · 15/02/2014 20:40

I like it.

Lauratheexplora · 15/02/2014 20:50

No way. Please spare your dc. Luna(tic) horrible word, lends itself too readily for bullying.
How about:

Lana
Nuna
Lara
Uma
Nina
Lyra

Giddygrandma · 15/02/2014 20:51

As above - lunatic! sorry. Mia is beautiful though.

meringuesnowflakes33 · 15/02/2014 20:52

I love it
Even tho DP used to have a camper van called Luna

dimdommilpot · 15/02/2014 20:59

I wanted it as DDs middle name but OH vetoed it :( i love it.

LEMmingaround · 15/02/2014 21:07

people might shorten it to loon Confused I do think its a nice name but i wouldn't choose it for tht reason as kids (and their parents) can be bloody spiteful

PestoStormissimos · 15/02/2014 21:09

I think it's pretty.

BlueStarsAtNight · 15/02/2014 21:51

I like it but wouldn't use it due to easy teasing potential. Really like the suggestion of Lana though.

catbus · 15/02/2014 21:55

I know a girl called Luna. Lovely name. My cat's name too Grin

RawCoconutMacaroon · 15/02/2014 21:55

I know 2 people with the unusual name Luana (Loo Anna). One is a young child, the other a g grandmother.

Alisvolatpropiis · 16/02/2014 01:10

As others have said, bullying potential is high with Luna.

Also fairly high with Lana, backwards it's anal. Terribly juvenile I know but...children and teenagers are known for being quite juvenile. It's for this reason I'd never use Orla, despite thinking it's lovely.

Can I suggest Lara?

squoosh · 16/02/2014 01:12

Oh I love Lana.

Namechanged

My name is Luna. I love it, but it can be a bit of a cross to bear. As a child in a small, MC village primary school, I didn't like it. I wasn't bullied, but it was very different from everyone else, and I didn't want to be different.

As an adult, I am very comfortable in my own skin, and am different. Happy to be. People remember me always, and I think that a number of amazing opportunities have come my way, in part, because I have a memorable name, partly because I'm a confident and sociable person.

Lots of people tell me they love my name when I meet them. I wouldn't change it for the world now.

LunaIsMyName · 16/02/2014 01:18

By the way, I'm of the opinion that, if people want to bully you, they will find a way. Far rather it was a name, outside of your control, than aspects of your personality, looks, or family.
