Looking for a girls name, must not be too cutesy, fairly traditional non faddy names are what I usually prefer. I like Sophie and Isabelle but can't use either of those thanks to family and close friends. Surname ends with er so wary of names ending in a. Surname begins with r and am wanting to avoid an alliterative name.

Charlotte?

Another Charlotte here too.
Do you like Beth?
Hannah and Emily are both non faddy, lovely names.

KatAndKit · 15/02/2014 16:18

Like Emily, that can go on the shortlist.
I like Charlotte but I'd be worried about it turning into Charlie which we don't like.
Not sure about beth. Would probably have to be Elizabeth officially which is a nice classic name but I don't love it.

Matilda was the first name that came to mind but then Matty and Max.

Or in a similar vein Maddie and Max? Madelene.

Mmmm Alice is quite nice.that can go on the list. Not keen on Alex for a girl. Can't have any eve type names as a close friend and a cousin both have. I like Madeleine but dislike Maddie. Perhaps my problem is just that I don't like nicknames! Lucy can also go on the shortlist. Thanks for suggestions.

Polly sprung to mind, but maybe fails your criteria of not being too cutesy?
