Isobel or Imogen???

Hi everyone - our second little girl is on the way (our daughter is called Eloise, middle name Cara) and we can't decide between Isobel or Imogen (we think we have it shortlisted to these two anyway! Love the name Erin but think we will use that as a middle name).

Any thoughts/comments on either of these names would be much appreciated! : )

Imogen of the two. Please not another Isobel, however you vary the spelling.
Erin is by far nicest of all.

Dreya · 16/02/2014 21:11

I think Isobel is much nicer than Imogen. But I also agree with the spelling. Isabelle looks much better. Isobel looks odd to me.

Leeds2 · 16/02/2014 21:56

Prefer Isobel. Although I would spell it Isabelle too.

SoonToBeSix · 16/02/2014 22:09

Isobel, not a fan of Imogen.

Givemeyouranswerdo · 16/02/2014 22:11

Imogen is a beautiful name created by Shakespeare. Isobel is an old lady name.

Loveyouthree · 17/02/2014 18:47

Imogen. Love it. Wanted to call BOTH of my daughters this I love it that much Blush

Plus, there are 100s of Isobels etc. Is it from Twilight or something?

Treaclepie19 · 22/02/2014 14:36

I love Imogen, Immy for short.

traininthedistance · 23/02/2014 22:42

Isobel sounds perfect with Eloise :)

Chloerose75 · 23/02/2014 23:50

Imogen - Isobel is just so popular

MarieMag74 · 09/03/2014 21:31

Thank you very much everyone - really helpful - still haven't decided on a name, but got a couple more weeks to make a decision! : )

Isobel

LillyPops · 09/03/2014 22:48

I love Isobel and I prefer it spelt that way rather than the 'Isabelle' spelling.

MarieMag74 · 12/03/2014 16:25

Now not sure whether to call baby Erin with a middle name of either Imogen or Isobel - don't think it took us this long to make a decision with our first! Baby is being evicted on Tuesday if she doesn't show up before then, so decision will be made by then (or when we meet her!)

I'm not that keen on Imogen. I like Isobel and also Isabella.

ajandjjmum · 12/03/2014 16:49

Don't bank on it! DD was 6 weeks old before we settled on a name - infact, we have some 'welcome to the world Robyn' cards, and she wasn't called Robyn.

Good luck - hope it goes well! Smile

Thank you everyone!!

If you're thinking celtic then how about Ishbel?
I prefer Imogen of the two suggested though and more celtic-relevant

Fozzleyplum · 16/03/2014 22:46

Isobel. These names are very likely to get shortened and I've never heard a shortened version of Imogen that I like (Im/Immie/Immy/Bim). Quite like Izzy/Iz though.

Mireio · 16/03/2014 23:40

Definitely Isobel. Imogen reminds me too much of that 'glamour model' Imogen Thomas.
