I love them all and will probably wait and see what suits best but am interested in your opinions please!

Which do you like best?

Middle name not decided yet but would like one with family connections and our surname is one syllable beginning with D.

In order of preference:
Matilda
Natasha
Rachel

Alice

Rachel is absolutely gorgeous. I don't think it's dated at all. It's a classic. DD4(12) has four Rachels in her class.

winterhat · 15/02/2014 16:58

I like Natasha best of those. Natasha Rachel would be a great name.

DramaAlpaca · 15/02/2014 17:00

My favourite from your list is Alice.

Matilda & Natasha are OK.

I've never been keen on Rachel.

Lovethebubbles · 15/02/2014 17:07

Alice!

Davidhasselhoffstoecheese · 16/02/2014 07:20

Natasha makes me think of tash, moustache

Alice is gorgeous. Classic

Matilda is a bit quirky but cute.

HoneyandRum · 16/02/2014 07:46

Natasha is the best by far.

The other two are becoming massively popular in your DDS generation and sound twee.

HoneyandRum · 16/02/2014 07:50

Rachel is good one too. Will stand out a mile from all the Millies, Mollies, Lilys, Claras, Isabels etc. etc.

I would use Natasha and/or Rachel - Natasha has a dynamism that is missing from Alice or Matilda.

MissWimpyDimple · 16/02/2014 07:54

Alice is fabulous, dynamic, classic and not at all buttoned up Grin

Don't like Natasha at all, mainly for the shortenings.

Matilda is nice but very very popular at the moment.

TamerB · 16/02/2014 07:59

Alice, Rachel and Matilda- in that order.

OP Have you read the thread - it began early in February and is on page 2 of this Topic - called 'Strong Russian Names'? Posters there discuss the name Natasha and how it is currently used by some people in Russia. That might not matter in the UK or elsewhere in the world, but you might just perhaps want to read it before making your final choice.

Matilda, Alice, Rachel all nice. As earlier poster has suggested, there is also Natalya/Natalia/Natalie. I met a Spanish 'Natalia' once, nickname 'Nati'.

LucyLasticBand · 17/02/2014 11:24

matilda could be tilly
natasha, nat or tash Hmm

alice cannot really be shortened

Pippacat85 · 17/02/2014 11:32

Thanks everyone.

Still got a few months but still can't decide... Yes the 'strong Russian names' thread has put me off Natasha a little.. Still love Matilda but lots of the middle names I like begin with 'A' and I can't give my daughter the initials MAD, can I?! Love Anna as well but it's my niece's name. Hmmm... decisions.

Love Natasha

Matilda and all the Tilly Milly shortened names Tilda etc are extremely common in 0-10 girls I'd avoid Grin

pygmy · 17/02/2014 12:53

Alice
Matilda

Natasha

Kaekae · 17/02/2014 12:57

What about Hannah instead of Anna?!
