Hiya, Struggling with boys names - there are none!
Not sure if bump is blue or pink yet but can't think of any boys names I love.
DS is Noah (& he was 5 1/2 weeks before he had a name, even though we knew from 17 weeks he was a boy).

Just gone through the bounty name app & the ONLY name that stood out was Ruben.

What are your thought on it?
What could Rubens Middle name be?
And does it work with Noah?

Other names welcome and needed.

Thank you - oh if it helps girls front runner so far is phoebe x

I'd assume that brothers called Reuben and Noah were from a religious family, probably Jewish. Nothing wrong with that of course.

It's a nice name, I'd pair it with John/James/Jude something short.

Hiya,
I was thinking the same thing re Jewish. I'm not Jewish - we go to Church occasionally but not on a regular basis.
Not sure if bothers me or not though TBH.

Prefer Reuben spelling.

Reuben Joseph
Reuben Edward
Reuben William
Reuben Louis

Or Noah and ...

Jude
Arlo
Isaac
Leo

FlutterShyPinkiePie · 11/02/2014 18:17

To me it will always mean a sandwich! Sorry

BackforGood · 11/02/2014 18:19

I think life will be easier for him if you use Reuban rather than Ruban.

I'm not sure why a person's name has to "go with" their siblings names - they are going to be their own independent person for 70 years or so after you've stopped introducing them as 'dc1 and dc2'.

Reuban's quite popular with u5s around here - not my cup of tea, but then I've had my turn naming my dc Smile. Don't dislike it either.

atthestrokeoftwelve · 11/02/2014 18:20

Reuben is a lovely name, my Husbands' family is Jewish, so we have a couple of Reubens there.

Catsmamma · 11/02/2014 18:20

if it is any help at all I have a cat called Reuben, Middle name is DaVinci.

:D

Ihatepeas · 11/02/2014 18:33

I love Reuben. Noah and Reuben sound great together.

tammytoby · 11/02/2014 18:34

Noah and Reuben do sound very Jewish and religious.

Alternatively how about
Noah and Rufus
Noah and Quentin
Noah and Sebastian

AndWhenYouGetThere · 11/02/2014 18:53

Reuben is lovely with Noah.

Noah James and Reuben George?

Saharap2 · 11/02/2014 20:12

I really like Reuben and preferred it spelled this way. Ruben is fine though too but just think it would cause confusion. I think it might be the Spanish spelling?

I don't think Reuben and Noah seem overly religious. Obviously they are both Old Testament type names but they are both fairly well known and used these days, not anything too outrageous. IMO no different to e.g. Joseph and Jacob, which I don't think people would comment on.

Mistletoenail3 · 11/02/2014 20:26

soory, still associate reuben with romany/gypsy clans

sandberry · 11/02/2014 20:38

Ruben is a good name for a sibling for Noah, both Biblical names that are rising in popularity and trendy. I prefer the Ruben spelling but with a Noah I'd go for Reuben.

ladyquinoa · 11/02/2014 21:25

I like it!!!

Also Noah and Hayden
Noah and rafe

I have a Noah and Reuben is my first choice if we have another boy Smile You have impeccable taste!

HyvaPaiva · 11/02/2014 21:32

Reuben is good. 'Ruben', however, makes me think 'pube' and 'rude' and so I really don't like it.

CatchesTheNightTrain · 11/02/2014 21:35

Love it

YoHoHoandabottleofWine · 11/02/2014 21:43

I know a Ruben, rather than Reuben, originally I was annoyed they spelt it 'wrong' but now the other Reuben spelling looks wrong to me. I think either spelling is perfectly fine.

Ruben Christopher
Ruben Montgomery
Ruben Louis
Ruben Max
Ruben Lucas

oh just checked upthread and saw someone else say Ruben Louis - it's meant to be!

SpocksThirdEar · 11/02/2014 21:43

I love it, though I have a Reuben so am biased towards that spelling, it looks right to me as it's what I'm used to.

I also have another boy with a biblical name, and we're not remotely religious, I just chose names I liked. No one has ever commented on their names being "Jewish", I guess because my others sons names aren't.

Love Noah too, that was on my list for my youngest.

justhayley · 11/02/2014 22:51

Thanks all,
I actually prefer the Reuben spelling now I'm thinking of it.
Don't know why I find boys names sooooo difficult. I love DS name and it wasn't one I'd considered during pregnancy, didn't realise it was as popular as it is when I named him, but haven't come across one in RL yet so hasn't bothered me.

Do like Reuben as a name I think, although can't imagine having one, if that makes sense?

Have always loved Josh/Joshua and DS was almost called it but it didn't suit him like Noah did, + DP isn't that keen, but after 5 1/2 weeks of a baby with no name think he would have called DS bluebell if it meant he had a name lol.
