it's ridiculous I know but this name business - or lack of a name is starting to get me down. So far, DD2 has been the following:-

Amy
Brooke
Holly
Ruby
Amelia
Amelie

DD1 is Ella Rose.

names liked but can't use :- Emily, Abigail, Sophie, Jessica, Mia, Scarlett.

surname ends "sie" so Elsie loved but out due to DD1 & surname rhyming!!

HELP HELP HELP.

How long have you got? Don't panic!

I like Amelie, Holly but prefer Amelia spelt 'Emilia' ... but that may be too close to Emily or you may not want another E name?

How about

Freya
Olivia
Isabelle

?

MrsRV · 05/02/2014 14:10

have got a while yet so live in hope perfect name will become apparent!

don't like Olivia, know loads!
Freya - yes good suggestion have text hubby :-)
Isobelle - Belle/Bella to close to Ella. Issy/Izzy not good with surname because of the "sie"?

Freya's nice, will see what Mr Fussy says Grin

Imogen
Zoe
Sasha
Laurel
Megan
Jennifer
Alice
Alicia

MrsRV · 05/02/2014 15:45

soontobeslender thanks... can't have Megan. Like Laurel but DH doesn't which is a real shame. Alice is lovely but reminds DH of the god awful song with a swear word in it. BECAUSE HE'S CLEARLY GOT THE MENTALITY OF A CHAV. Alicia... now, how is this pronounced? saw another thread along the same lines as this - is it Alicia as in "a-lise-ea" or "a-liss-ea"???

I think you can go for A leesha or A liss ia or indeed A lees-ea but then I'm Scottish so my pronunciations may be entirely different :o

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 05/02/2014 16:06

Lorelei
Ramona
Shannon

scoobysu · 05/02/2014 16:25

From your list I love Ruby and think Ella and Ruby make very cute sibling names. How about...

Ivy (love this and wish I could use it)
Molly (personally prefer this to Holly)
Daisy or Maisie (may not work with surname)
Imogen

pilates · 05/02/2014 16:39

All lovely names, except Brooke.

Think Ruby would sound good with Ella.

How about Violet?

Heathcliff27 · 05/02/2014 16:40

How about Grace?

MrsRV · 05/02/2014 16:43

Ruby used to be our absolute fave. until we learnt of a few Ellie & Ruby sister combos locally... and for DH, until a Ruby made quite a meal of DD's face with her nails Shock

now, Loreili I love. not sure if I can spell it!!! :-) Hubby will hate it as its just too different.

Molly is a dog in the family. No go.

BetterWithCheese · 05/02/2014 16:48

Actually I think it's Laura-lie or at least it is on Gilmore Girls.

Wombmates · 05/02/2014 17:50

If you like Isobel but the Izzy nn doesn't work, then consider the nn Ibby - my dneice's nickname. :)

Other names:

Alice
Frances
Megan

Oh MrsRV I so hope you find "the one" I understand the stress!

MrsRV · 05/02/2014 22:18

it's just really pissing me off. I'm a bit of a control freak and just like to be organised... I'm just not a "wait and see" kind of person!!

I always thought it was Lorra-lie but recently heard someone refer to Lorra-lay.

How about Anna or Hannah?

Did DH like Freya?

Viviennemary · 05/02/2014 23:20

I like Amelia best from your list. From the other names suggested I like Alice, Isobel and Violet. Ivy is nice too.

Lorelei is pronounced Lorra-lie (like 'lie down'). It's German, I think she was some sort of siren who tempted German sailors to run aground on the Rhine? Maybe I made that up. There's definitely a song about her though (in German). It's a beautiful name.

Orangeboat · 06/02/2014 17:55

My favourite on your list is Holly love it I also like Amy. Ameilia is nice but I just know so many .

Tea1Sugar · 06/02/2014 18:07

Op, what has changed your mind from Amelia? Thought you were pretty fixed?
